Wow USA, this one must hurt!!!
“We do not want to be rich like Americans. Look how greedy they are, even trying to invade their friends. We would not sell ourselves. We know what happened to Indigenous people in Alaska and Native Americans. Their land was taken, and they were not treated well.”
— Greenlandic politician Tillie Martinussen
That is not a throwaway jab, it is a full moral indictment. It flips the usual American self image on its head: wealth is not automatically admired, and power is not automatically respected. When someone says they would rather stay themselves than become “rich like Americans,” they are basically saying the brand is broken, and the history is part of the reason.

Trump is inviting Putin to the World Cup as his guest and reportedly asked him to join this “Board of Peace.”
At the same time, he’s threatening European allies over Greenland and ripping up NATO trust in real time.
So no, this isn’t “America First.”
It’s Russia welcomed. Allies bullied.
And we’ve been saying it every single day.
You just didn’t want to believe it.
Russians themselves questioning why they live in absolute squalor while government spends $800,000,000/day bombing people in Ukraine.
A city bus in Russia's city of Ryazan.
The US cutting air defenses gave Putin the time he needed to create a true humanitarian crisis. With Ukraine now surviving on a few nuclear plants, Russia now readies to attack those as well.
Europeans need to understand that Trump is Putin's servant, working hand in hand to destroy Europe.
And with Europeans STILL afraid to stop Russia's shadow tankers, it will get much worse from here.
No roof. No walls. -20°C.
DTEK's energy workers are keeping Ukraine's lights on - restoring power plants damaged by russian strikes and working 24/7 through the country's harshest winter in years.
Literally begging for help to save civilian lives from being murdered while Trump blames Ukraine, threatens Greenland, plays golf for the next 4 days, and Witkoff and Kushner negotiate deals with Putin.
Confirming that the US did indeed cut off the supply of Ukraine's air defense missiles just long enough for Putin to fully devastate the remaining power plants.
"Until this morning, Ukraine did not have missiles for air defense systems" — Zelensky
Trump and Putin working together to pressure Ukraine.
This is how absurd Russian disinformation has become. Kirill Dmitriev lectures the UK about potentially banning X, while posting from Russia via a VPN, because X is already banned there.
No one is talking about Kherson anymore. You won't see it on the news anywhere. But 🇷🇺s continue erasing the city they didn't occupy. Human safari continues. Targeting of residential buildings continues. Power or thermal plants are destroyed. Hospitals will follow soon.
Kyiv after the Russian attack:
The temperature is -9°C, dropping to -15°C overnight.
Tens of thousands of people are without heating, water, electricity.
Those who have gas are trying to keep warm by heating bricks on their stoves.
This is what genocide looks like in the 21st century.
Minus fifteen.
This is no longer weather. This is a weapon.
Russia struck thermal power plants.
Not the front line. Not the army.
Heat. Light. Survival.
Kyiv is dark.
Dnipro is dark.
Odesa is dark.
Minus fifteen.
People will die now without bleeding.
From cold rooms. From silence. From systems turned off.
From the outside, it looks like a blackout.
From the inside, it is a concentration of human warmth; the last place where light truly refuses to leave.
Everywhere else, just look, it is also dark and cold. The rooms are warm and bright.
But full of cowardice or indifference.
Russia switches off electricity.
The world switches off conscience.
And yet, if human light still exists, it is not where comfort is preserved, it is where people sit in the dark and choose not to freeze into numbness.
Ukraine.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but destroying an entire country's power grid over four years of constant bombings, with the purpose of freezing 40 million people as temperatures drop to as low as –23 degrees Celsius in the middle of winter, shouldn't be tolerated.
It’s been 15 hours since the heating went out. It’s –10 C outside now and heavily snowing. The shop nearby closed after its generator gave up. People are stocking up on food and water. Can’t imagine how the elderly and those without help nearby are getting through this.
So many scream that international law is dead after Venezuela.
Where was this energy when russia occupied Moldova? Or Georgia? Or Crimea, then parts of Donbas? Or in 2022 when it launched a full scale invasion of Ukraine?
