It’s been a busy few weeks at #CUDHM! We were thrilled to welcome visiting professors from @JohnsHopkins on two separate occasions. Thank you to Drs. Amit Pahwa and Kara-Grace Leventhal for meeting with and presenting to our team. #MedEd
Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, February 12, for Medicine Grand Rounds with Dr. Pahwa! He’ll be discussing High Value Care in Hospital Medicine – a must-attend for anyone in healthcare!
Did you know 90% of Americans never reach their deductibles?
That means most healthcare is paid out-of-pocket.
And with 18 billion treatments annually, the market for cash-priced services under $6,000 is ripe for disruption.
Imagine knowing upfront that an MRI costs $400 at one facility and $4,800 at another.
Transparency saves money, builds trust, and gives patients real power. It’s time to demand it.

Good news for everyone who's overcommitted: There isn’t a bonus for finishing a task early.
New evidence: Although missing deadlines is penalized, beating them isn't rewarded.
Being done ahead of schedule is not a badge of honor. Nothing worth doing is worth rushing to finish.
Amazing thread on expert clinicians. This is part of the reason I feel when you are a student, resident, fellow watch as many people as you can because they may show you something you may want to emulate. I have the privilege as an attending to observe on rounds.

If you are due for assessment with @ABIMcert (recertification) in 2025, consider enrolling in the #LKA (Longitudinal Knowledge Assessment). You can answer questions on your own time. You can always switch back to the 10 year exam if you decide it’s not for you. @DrErinRamelb @alikhan28@Dr_B_UMJMHIM@yejnes@nagdeep_gupta
Little discussed fact: Choosing to not “treat” high blood pressure makes you look like a wacko to the nurses and CRNAs/anesthesiologists in the real world where I practice
It requires lots of time, explanation, being present, and even documentation of your rationale
