I decided when Musk took over that I didn't need any more idiot billionaire drama queens beaming their insecurities and demographic rage directly into my brain.

@adammarkbrazier@dmoon Returning to Twitter for one tweet only to show you the tattoo my little sister, a true connoisseur of bad tattoos, got recently of that car (which was named the Manilla Gorilla).

Tom Sizemore was legitimately one of my favorite actors ever. Like, you could go "I need a Tom Sizemore type for this role" and everyone would know what you mean. Archetypal.
Guess that's my way of saying I'm leaving. I'll post my dumb shit elsewhere maybe Mastadon @paintchips I don't need any more of my life revolving around the mercurial insecurities of lame rich assholes than it already does.
There's a lot I like about Twitter but I really just don't think I can handle having any more years of my waking life spent on a platform revolving around the "I heard somewhere..." opinions of another out of touch rich white guy with an aggressively idiotic messiah complex.
@StationCDRKelly I strongly disagree. Forcing your pronouns upon others when they didn’t ask, and implicitly ostracizing those who don’t, is neither good nor kind to anyone.
As for Fauci, he lied to Congress and funded gain-of-function research that killed millions of people. Not awesome imo.
I say again, if a substantial part of your politics entails "holding the line" against some minority group whose broader inclusion you feel is a direct threat to the "right" kind of people you prefer, that's not a "them" problem, it's a "you" problem.
If the far-right weren't attacking trans people like they are today, they'd find another target. The entire schtick is to find an outgroup to label as degenerate, subhuman, and dangerous to society (e.g. "groomer" panic), and harass the outgroup as a public display of cruelty.
Just for laughs, go through the thought exercise of, if Trump did this, how many Republicans IN CONGRESS would actually come out against and do everything in their power to stop him.
If you think even a majority of the caucus, you're out of your mind.
Pedro Castillo, facing an impeachment vote today, just said he is dissolving Congress and installing a "government of exception" in Peru. Very unclear if he will in practice be able to do this, but based on the announcement alone it is very similar to Fujimori's autogolpe in 1992
This wholly anodyne Taibbi thread is unwitting evidence of a much bigger bummer: every day, American conservatives seem to sink deeper into a dirtscape of utter nonsense — of gibberish code words and inscrutable signals that mean nothing to normal people.
The more interesting aspect is that just hours after Matt Taibbi whipped the right-wing into hysteria about “censorship” and Democrats hating the First Amendment, Trump went on Truth Social and literally called for the termination of parts of the Constitution.
…aaand crickets.
Trump is explicitly, literally calling here for the suspension of a the Constitution so he can be reinstated as president.
"A massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allow for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles *****even those found in the Constitution ***

It's a weird tic of the prosperity gospel that many people, especially Americans, can never seem to quite wrap their heads around the idea that a wildly successful person might not be a genius and might just not know what the fuck they're doing from moment to moment.
