But those who keep going get to the point where they're turning DOWN work. More than anything else, starting today will put you on that path

Last thing: expect "getting good" to take years. Years and years. You probably won't find work any time soon, and most quit here.

Now, armed with momentum and self-discipline, begin seeding in the above things slowly, one at a time (new gear, materials, classes, etc.)

What you're really doing there is excising the natural fear of doing something difficult (and for some reason, art is particularly scary.)

Do it daily. You'll fail hard, fall flat on your face often - and that's great (for all the cliched reasons I won't deign to list.)
