“And why do I feel like you won't?”
Knowing how Verso often displays his mischievous behavior, it's certainly plausible that he might just exercise more tactics to keep teasing her.
He's giving her another big push and relishing in her laughter. It's not often she allows herself to be so light and carefree and he enjoys every moment.
"If you're too scared, simply say the word and I will lighten up!"
He snickers, the words obviously a challenge.
“I can, but still!”
And yet she's laughing, seemingly having the best time of her life swinging as high as she could, having a different view of the world below.
“Whoa, this is so high.”
"Oh. Good. The important bits, then."
He released the world's heaviest sigh as he snuck a fleeting glance at her, filled with shame.
"Tell me, then. Why act cordially with me when you must loathe me?"
Kisses placed along her jaw and neck, loving, lazy. He was in no hurry to expend anymore energy.
"It's strange. Being here like this. Warm. Safe. Happy."
He released a soft sigh against her pale skin.
"Almost as if the past century had been a bad dream."
Hands press to her back and he delivers a thorough shove to send her flying. He doesn't even start gradually, wanting to playfully take her off guard.
"Hold on tight, I'll send you flying right out of the canvas!"
“So patient with me this time. Thank you.”
She teased, sitting down on the swing as instructed and didn't move, waiting for his first move before using her legs to be of aid.
Pulling her back into bed to press up against him. He sighs contently at the pleasant feeling of her bare skin against his own. His eyes close and his hand runs up and down her side slowly, tracing every curve.
"Let's stay just like this all night, shall we?"
"Good idea, let me get some set out."
She has some stashed nearby and she rises to gather them, placing them in safe spots about the room before lighting them.
The room is bathed in flickering light.
"Perfect."
