Last night, we recognized Tonya Kelly as our SHEro Spotlight, presented by Tim Hortons.

For over nine years, Tonya's work has extended beyond the classroom through service with her organizations Empower Our Youth Foundation and Ostomy Warriors. Through Empower Our Youth Foundation, the mission focuses on anti-bullying education, youth empowerment, literacy, SEL, Columbus Community experiences, mentorship, and creating safe, inclusive environments where students feel seen, supported, and confident. This work directly impacts families and students by fostering leadership, resilience, and academic success. In addition, Tonya's advocacy with Ostomy Warriors centers on supporting individuals living with ostomies like herself through awareness, education, and assisting patients with access to free ostomy supplies. This work helps reduce stigma, restore dignity, and remove barriers for individuals and families navigating medical challenges. Tonya's commitment to service in both the classroom and the community was recognized nationally when she was named the 2025 National Life Group LifeChanger Award Winner. This honor reflects the collective impact of advocacy, education, and compassion that drives her work every day.
