Unilever has a strong presence in Pakistan although many local brands are just as good some even better. Hico ice cream rivals Wall’s, Young’s Mayo beats Hellmann’s, and National ketchup stands up to Knorr. We should move towards more Pakistani brands.
@maplesyrup10_ While that's a valid point, I think that we haven't arrived at that conversation yet. Most of the people (women) I know are shamed for having a sex drive and we need to remove that stigma rn.
But really though it’s this kind of open candid personal politics that should be a prerequisite for anyone vying for power. He is definitely a politician- he’s already got that rhetoric and language down but it is still sincere and untainted. You can’t help but like the guy 🤷♀️
Okay I know NPR isn’t on twitter so maybe this isn’t getting the traction it needs but @ZohranKMamdani’s interview with @LeilaFadel is SO good. Smart, insightful questions that have been on all our minds.

It is sad that there are people who are worried about linguistic niceties when a genocide is taking place under the watch of “civilised world”, 1000s of children are being butchered non stop.
This is not a sit down dinner where one should mind the language and manners. Pahlavi stands with Netanyahu a genocidal maniac, all he deserves is contempt and nothing else.
Those who bless Netanyahu’s Israel will be blessed. Those who curse the state carrying out a live-streamed genocide will be cursed.
Senator Ted Cruz, who supports the U.S. joining Israel in its unprovoked strikes on Iran, explains the roots of his loyalty to Netanyahu’s government.
May 9th is only a 'Black Day' because it reminds us of just how much the military has screwed over this country--creating monsters to do their bidding & destroying them when they stop following their script.
Okay make this make sense. Why try to sear #9thMay in national consciousness/memory if it was such a dark day. Why spend on jingles & propaganda movies & a whole ass hashtag #9thMayNeverAgain which ain’t getting any traction anyway. Matlab kis baat ka sog manaya jaye ga kal?🤷♀️
Gigantic posters all over DHA and Cantt calling 9th May the "darkest day" in Pakistan's history.
This is in a country where the Fall of Dhaka and the APS Massacre both happened on the same date - December 16th.
No points for guessing who was responsible both times.

This is such a powerful poem and it has found an auspicious conjunction in the lyrics and the animation.

I personally think people only have human rights when I myself am looking directly at them. like object permanence. when they leave the room, or my line of sight, their human rights? gone!!
I wrote about what I’d been reading, for the @guardian. Now: editing’s important. I’m happy to be edited and I welcome it. But isn’t it funny how it’s always the same word that gets edited out? https://t.co/GTSB7Z64wL
