Calls for Baldini to get the job full time are crazy. It'd be like England having a terrible world cup and then turning to Steve Cotterill for two friendlies and then suggesting he might be the right fit long term.
@fcparmacompl Agree this is odd. He had two good games and then gets an ACL injury. Hard to justify that. I think there is a player there but a big injury to come back from.

Aston Villa end their 30 year wait for a trophy in Europe.
Spurs ended a 17 year wait for a trophy in Europe.
West Ham ended a 43 year wait for a trophy in Europe.
Palace have a very good chance of winning their first European trophy next week.
Massive congratulations to Villa and I don't mean to take anything away from those teams, or their supporters...
But the financial advantage that the Premier League has over the rest of Europe, appears to have ruined the competitive balance in the Europa League and Conference League.
Real Madrid, Bayern, PSG, Barcelona, they'll always be able to compete in the Champions League due to their immense pull in attracting the best talent...
But in the two competitions below? Different story.
But take tonight's game...
Aston Villa wage bill for 24/25 was reportedly ยฃ273m, Freiburg's was ยฃ20.6m.
That's just not a level playing field!
@adamsummerton Well said. Infrastructure is key but might have to pick your poison. Do you want stadiums full of modern stadium prices/fans, like the Prem. Or pure ultras that live/breathe the club but want to pay โฌ300 a season ticket, smoke a cig in the stands and drink a 5 euro beer?

The British Bengals draft panel convene once again to go over some of their favourite prospects.
Should Jeremiah Love be an option at 10? Is cornerback now the likeliest first-round pick for the #Bengals? Who out of the pass rushers will still be there?
PLUS Are the Bengals being bold enough when it comes to the international marketing rights program?

How do Italy let a 20 year old lad with virtually 0 big game, top flight or international experience take that first penalty away at Bosnia. Ridiculous decision.

@adamsummerton@tntsports Great evening watching with you and @donhutch4 on comms. Even managed to persuade my Mrs to watch the end of the game after the Conceicao goal. Brilliant game and always entertaining on a Sunday night.
Lots of people queueing up to give Serie A a good kicking today. On this yearโs CL performance not undeserved.
Of course itโs also true, and has been for a long time, that the league is far from perfect and has issues that need addressing.
If this seasonโs CL performance leads to some much needed changes then thatโll be a good thing.
However, the complete lack of nuance/perspective I see - particularly from those I suspect hardly ever watch a Serie A game, is daft.
One poor season used as evidence the league is in a terrible decline - yet no mention of the previous 5 years, during which time Serie A has only been outperformed by the PL.
Serie A has also produced brilliant titles races, with the league changing hands every year since 2020.
Non-traditional โbigโ clubs like Atalanta, Bologna and Como are adding to the leagueโs strength depth at a time a traditional power house like Juve is struggling.
Roma x2, Fiorentina x2, Inter x2 and Atalanta have all been to European finals in recent years.
This isnโt the performance of a league on its knees, far from it - yet a problem for Serie A is that, in many peopleโs eyes, particularly those who donโt watch it regularly, itโs ultimately judged on its 90s, 00s self, something it canโt live up to in the current financial environment. Set up to fail in that respect.
Perspective doesnโt tend to get clicks in the same way embarrassment and decline do, but come on, letโs have a bit of balance
