@SouthwestAir I had a return flight home booked for Monday July 7th. Had a family emergency so I switched my flight from the 7th to today. Southwest charged me $339 to change the flight. I get to the airport today, and my flight is practically empty! Not even halfway full!
@MediaGoddess1@SouthwestAir@SouthwestAir do you have a response to this? I’ve switched multiple flights in the past with American and delta and only paid small fees if the flight wasn’t booked, which it typically wasn’t as I live in Pittsburgh which isn’t a big hub for layovers
@SouthwestAir I understand that, but this flight would’ve flown to Pittsburgh today regardless of if it was full or not. You would think that as a company if you have that many open seats and it was a transferred flight you wouldn’t price gouge your customers that bad
@SouthwestAir It just doesn’t make any sense considering I had already paid for my flight home. and since the flight today wasn’t even halfway full, the fare difference seems a little outlandish. I can understand maybe $100 to transfer things over but $339? On a flight that was nearly empty?
@AmericanAir Since when? Why don’t you guys have that in big bold letters or something not buried in a bunch of stuff nobody reads.
There’s no way to get around this? Someone told me if I book her a ticket that’s super cheap I can get the rest of the trip credit transferred to someone else
@AmericanAir so tell me how this makes sense.
I had a trip booked for me and my (now ex) girlfriend to go to Cancun. I already paid $750 a piece for the tickets.
Why can’t I transfer that ticket to my friend to take him instead of her now that we broke up?
This makes no sense as even if I cancel her ticket she’s still the one to get the flight credit and I’m still out $750.
Has anyone else ever had to deal with this? This can’t be true and can’t make sense I can’t imagine people not changing flights when shit comes up.
I was told that I could cancel the trip and that SHE would be able to get the flight credits. Even though I was the one that booked the trip.
How hard is it to simply change the name on a ticket? Like what if she died or had to go to the hospital? Am I just out $750 then?
