@jonnym1ller And it is also interesting how the nervous system regulation appears in songs. Well, not really in pop. In my Sing Yourself To Freedom course i dedicate a whole chapter to that… I’d be happy to chat more about that!
@jonnym1ller Exemple: Saving all my love for you (WHouston), lyrics: Each time I try I just break down and cry, I d rather be home feelin blue/So I am saving all my love for you
@jonnym1ller As a singer-songwriter-teacher I hear the invitation :). Very much agree. Exemples: Without you (MCarey), Lyrics: Tell me how I am supposed to survive without you.
You can self-transform by using your own voice. You can change so many things in yourself by singing, or just playing with your voice. Try self-lullaby, in the most tender way. Re-parent yourself.
@AgnesCallard Haha, the other side of it: I often respond to my kids "Mom!" - "I can't pay attention to you now but I will in half an hour". (instead of throwing a "justasec" which means never). The funniest when they respond to me the same way to my "go and take your shower finally".
@tferriss@DrGaborMate I'm a single mum of two (10,6) and those games works with them too! "Push my hands, stronger, we're lions now!" The've permission to move their muscles, pushing me, shouting, but there's a framework,it's safe, (I'm grounding myself in the pushing as well). The anger passes fast
@tferriss@DrGaborMate So it does let the lava of anger flowing out of the body, but it doesn't amplify it. I love seeing my students being cavemen and telling the story of a successful hunt with sound, no meaningful words!
@tferriss@DrGaborMate Tim, thanks deeply for interviewing Gabor (who's my friend, I'm Hungarian too). I loved when you talk about processing rage, experiencing it in the body, being with it. I work with voice and songs - so it's mental and visceral at the same time, that's why it's transformative.
@rlange3 Dear Rose, so nice to read that! Thnx! I ll find my way, and curious to know other’s strategies. Much love from here, bigger hugs than usual!!!
