Binface has gone global. If he wins the by-election, Hollywood will make a film about it, Clacton will be back on the map and people’s house prices in the area will rise. Just one of the 5 million reasons to vote @CountBinface on Aug 13th 👊🏼
"the near-hysteria in Australia"
From Geoff Raby, who seems to be arguing for a different policy aesthetics from the Australian govt. on China?
But elevating tone over substance would be better applied to Beijing and its hysteria towards Japan and the Philippines.
This week, the first Australian-made OEM electric trucks to roll off the production line occurred.
Built by workers at Volvo Trucks Australia's manufacturing facility in Queensland.
What a day it’s been. My dear friend Sam left us today. I can’t believe we will no longer be eating great food together and sharing the odd glass of wine down at his winery, while laughing, singing and solving the problems of the world together. Sam was a big part of our lives. He was family. He lifted our spirits when he walked in the room. Sam was everything he appeared to be on the screen. Caring, funny, intelligent, charming, honest, talented, the list could go on. He sat with me while I recovered in hospital and I sat with him when he needed me. We shared a lot in this life and for that, I will be always thankful. Rest easy, dear Sam. You are always in our hearts.

Sam Neil.
Kind, wise, impish, graceful, warm.
The last time I saw him I took the opportunity to tell him he was an inspiration to me.
Rest in Peace Sam.
I’m just absolutely devastated. Darling Sam. I really don’t have any words right now. I’m in complete shock. Last time we spoke he was going so well. My heart goes out to his family and all who love him - and there are so many of us. Vale my darling friend 💔💔💔💔

Sam Neill (2025): “It’s not a happy place, America, and I wasn’t happy there. I’m interested in the condition of America now. It beggars belief what’s happening there now. When you hear a slogan like Make America Great Again, it makes a sort of weird sense because America could be great again, but at community level. Not with sort of strange billionaires making weird decisions”
Sam Neill starred in so many beloved Australian stories and he earned a special place in Australian hearts.
Wry and dry, thoughtful and laconic, Sam fought illness with the same dignity, humour and conviction that gave strength to his every performance.
He will be much mourned and long remembered. May he rest in peace.
