@jmarshfof Which, especially right now as Red Bull is stupid dominant, is really important. My instinct as a sports fan would be "lol those losers are coming in 12th, don't care" but putting those battles in context (resource constraints, history, etc.) makes watching the sport way better.
@jmarshfof Will Buxton's sections of D2S are definitely a lot of that video, and he's had interviews talking about how that's just what the producers happened to want, lol. But, the "getting to know the characters" stuff is second to none and it teaches you to enjoy the midfield battles.
@patriottakes while this looks like a questionable use of staff, i will say i've seen this sort of thing happen all the time with members --> staff, lol
@pensreport@jmarshfof@domluszczyszyn i love that the replies to jesse's first post, which is a player card that shows how underrated or, at worst, properly rated letang is, still had yinzers calling him overrated... haha. it has to be the hair.
@SpannersReady Newer fan card there -- I just wasn't there to see it. I had heard it changed significantly at some point when they were yeeting each other off track, but you've talked about how fighty Ferrari was in in the late 10s. I just think we'd be less annoyed if RBR would let them fight.
@SpannersReady It's funny, I saw a 2014 reference on Reddit yesterday and, as a newer fan, wanted to check out what the Merc dominance looked like in comparison. I had no idea just how fierce the fight was between Nico and Lewis at times. By far the biggest difference btwn eras.
@MattGajtka I've never experienced this in my beer league-level athletic life, but I think adrenaline might make your mouth water? I've never had the desire to spit like crazy while playing sports unless I'm sick tbh.
@yolo_pinyato I know what you mean. I get the impression it's a lot of "why would i play defense on a terrible team that isn't trying to win" but I feel gross for even making an excuse for him.
@ChrisMattoxDC @FrankNotFrankie I mean, everyone knows βI need to talk to youβ is an anxiety driver though. If Iβm doing that with my team I try to be sure to tell them what about and let them prepare if I need something specific.
