For my first post, I’m sharing a letter @NVIDIA signed on why open models matter.
AI will transform every industry, power every company, and be built by every country.
Open models strengthen safety and cybersecurity, accelerate innovation and diffusion, and enable sovereignty.
The world needs both frontier closed models and frontier open models.

BREAKING: Oracle announces the third cohort of its Defense Ecosystem, adding 10 companies to provide mission-critical AI, cyber, and autonomous systems to allied nations. $ORCL
Oracle made this announcement at its 2026 Defence Tech Summit in Brussels, marking a major step up in its push to capture the massive global defense market. This program essentially hooks up emerging defense tech startups directly into Oracle's massive cloud and AI infrastructure.
Instead of making these small tech firms wait years to clear government red tape, the partnership lets them deploy ready-to-use tech into the hands of the US military and allied nations almost immediately.
This moves the needle for Oracle because it ties into their growing $453 billion cloud empire. It is not just theoretical either; earlier cohorts are already running classified workloads on Oracle hardware for the Royal Navy out at sea.
By pairing with companies building everything from underwater robotics to secure mobile networks, Oracle is securing a multi-billion dollar pipeline of government contracts that will lock in long-term revenue.
Financially, this adds serious momentum to Oracle's remaining performance obligations, which currently sit at a massive $77 billion. Wall Street is already reacting positively, with 19 analysts recently bumping up their earnings expectations for the company.
As geopolitical tensions keep driving global defense budgets higher, Oracle's move to embed itself as the tech backbone for allied militaries positions it perfectly for steady, long-term growth.
