ま、和訳はともかく、ISUが定めた評価基準を厳密に沿えば、今シーズンのBest Newcomer, Best Coach（特にモントリオールコーチ陣がノミネートされていない前提で）とMVS（特にMVS）賞を受賞すべき人は、明らかじゃないかと思います。

ISUのHPで、MVSについては（個人の下手な和訳ですが）「ファンからの応援、メディアからの注目、そしてスポンサーからの支持を集めることによって、フィギュアスケートの人気度を上げることに最も貢献した選手」と説明していますので、「最優秀」ではなく、「最も貢献度の高い選手」だと思います。

ISU Skating AwardのMost Valuable Skaterを「最優秀選手」と訳した記事が多いですが、おそらくMLBやNBAなどの団体競技のプロリーグにおけるMVPの和訳に沿った翻訳だと思います。しかし、ISUが定めたMVSの評価基準を見れば、「最優秀」と訳すのはどうかなと疑問を持っています。
