Also worth mentioning that US and EU doesn't have E20 fuel yet.

The standard fuel in the US is E10 with E15 available for newer vehicles - Testing for E20 was done but eventually scrapped. The current US policy direction is mainly E10 nationwide and E15 expansion, with E15 subject to vehicle and regulatory limits.

And E10 is the standard fuel across EU. in April 2026, EU President Ursula Leyen said they would consider E20 after studying engine compatibility.

Bro copied the standards for Ethanol policy from USA, but didn't copy their testing results and implementation.

Even today, E20 is not mandated in the USA. Standard American gas stations predominantly sell E10 fuel, which holds over 95% of the market share. Higher ethanol blends like E15 have only a 1–2% share.

The USA tested E15 and E20 across 86 vehicle models and 6 million miles (96 lakh miles) in 2011, based on which E15 was approved only for new cars that were E15 compliant, while older cars continued to get E10. E20 was not mandated due to engine wear concerns in non-compliant cars, which were in the majority in the USA. And most importantly, unlike India, the USA made their studies public.

So what kind of policymaking is this? If you want to copy, either copy everything: the standards, the test results, the implementation, the way ahead, or don't copy anything at all.

The question is … Is Nitin Gadkari fit to remain a minister?

If a minister admits that he told his people to take US policies, remove the name and implement them in India, that raises a serious question about judgment, originality and national interest.

And when there are already conflict-of-interest allegations, shouldn’t the standard be even higher?

If policies are being copy-pasted from another country, how do we know whose interests they actually serve?

At the very least, such serious questions demand an independent inquiry.

Until then, why should he continue in a ministerial post?
