and then there's Parn.

if Peem learned to survive through control, i think Parn learned to survive through Giving.

give more. endure more. ask for less.

and i think that's what makes Parn so heartbreaking to me.

because Parn is not someone without dignity. She knows her boundaries. She knows what she will and won't do. Money can't buy her dignity, and being an Angel doesn't make her the person everyone assumes she is.

but years of being diminished by the people around her seem to have taught her something much quieter:

"maybe my worth is in what i can provide."

She keeps helping her family. Keeps trying to settle their debts. Keeps giving, even when the love she wants from them is rarely returned. And she has to live with people reducing her to a "high-class whore" simply because of where she works.

so Parn knows what she won't let people take from her. But she doesn't always know what she's allowed to ask for.

that's the part that gets me.

When she's hurt, she doesn't demand more. She retreats. She gives. She endures. She makes herself smaller.

not because she has no dignity, but because she's spent so long believing her needs come second.

and this is where Miu absolutely destroys me.

because so much of Parn's character lives in what she doesn't say. The pauses. The eyes. The tiny changes in her expression. The way she still takes care of Peem even when she's hurt. That little look when she wants to believe in the woman from the beach again.

Miu makes Parn's silence feel like a choice, a defence and a wound all at once.

and that's why Parn NEVER feels passive to me. She can be quiet without surrendering. She can be hurt without losing her dignity. She can love Peem without agreeing with what Peem does to her.

and i think that's what Parn has to unlearn,
Not how to endure. Not how to give more. But the belief that she has to earn love by giving more of herself away.

She doesn't have to settle every debt to deserve being chosen. She doesn't have to prove she's good enough. She doesn't have to make herself smaller to be loved.

Parn has to learn that she can simply be loved.

and that's why her journey hurts me in a completely different way from Peem's.

Peem is afraid of losing someone, so she holds tighter.
Parn is afraid she isn't worth keeping, so she gives more.

Peem has to learn love without control.
Parn has to learn to be loved without earning it.

the fact that i'm genuinely getting annoyed at Peem, frustrated over Parn, and then suddenly remembering that Peem is played by the sweetest Lalina and Parn by headstrong Miu... yeah. that's how completely LenaMiu disappeared into these characters. 😭💔👏🏻
