Putin had four Ukrainian children killed today, on his birthday.
Trump: "I’m going to call Putin today. It’s his birthday today. I’m sure you’ll be celebrating him."
We’ve got updated intel on Russia’s preparations for a massive strike. I ask you, please, to take care of yourselves and respond to missile threat alerts. Ukrainian services and our Air Force are ready to respond – as much as our defenses allow. And a lot depends on our partners – every country in the world that has the defensive capabilities we need and can provide them to us. It’s very important that there be the political will to do this – particularly in the United States and in Europe.
Today, as a birthday “gift” to Putin, the Russian army destroyed a residential building in Pryluky, in the Chernihiv region. It was an ordinary five-story apartment building. Tragically, as of now, five people have been reported killed and 26 injured, including five children. There may still be people under the rubble. First responders are working nonstop at the site – doing everything possible to find every person. Russian missile strikes also damaged five apartment buildings in Dnipro and four high-rise buildings in Kremenchuk. Tragically, two people were killed and eight injured. A high-rise building in Zaporizhzhia was damaged by a drone. In Kyiv, the Russians killed two people. Two more people were killed in Oleksandriya… My condolences to all the families and loved ones of those killed. Overall, infrastructure in Kyiv and 12 regions came under attack last night.
One of the key targets was our energy infrastructure. The Russians wanted to strike painfully and demonstratively. This was one of the most vile strikes: 70 missiles in total, many of them ballistic, as well as “shaheds.” Unfortunately, only some of them were shot down. Russian ballistic missiles remain the greatest challenge. And air defense packages for us right now are a vital necessity. That is why every day we are looking for missiles for Patriot systems that can and must actually protect people’s lives here, in Ukrainian skies. Thank you to everyone who is helping us.
Now, while rescue operations are still ongoing in our cities following the latest Russian terrorist attack, while rubble is being cleared and the wounded are receiving assistance, Ukraine extends its condolences, with particular sorrow, to each and every person in Israel and other countries who lost loved ones in the vile Hamas terrorist attack of October 7, 2023. Ukrainian citizens were also among the victims.
It was the largest and most brutal attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust and an attack on civilization itself. There can be no forgiveness for it. Tragically, nearly 1,200 people were killed. Hostages were abused—children and innocent people. Every terrorist must be held accountable for what they did.
Likewise, no other act of terror and no other war of aggression rooted in hatred should be forgiven or forgotten. There have already been far too many killings in the 21st century, a century that should have been, and must still become, entirely different. People deserve peace, security, and respect for human life. World leaders, and everyone with real influence and power, must truly stand up for life when it matters. The world is certainly stronger than any terror.
Work to clear the rubble is ongoing at the site of a Russian missile strike on a residential building in Pryluky. As of now, 18 people have been reported killed, four of them children: Oleksandr, Kyrylo, and Serhii, who were only one year old, and eight-year-old Maksym. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. Dozens of people were injured, including seven children. All emergency services are involved and working at the site. Fifteen people were rescued, including one child. There are still people who have not yet been accounted for.
The Russians know very well that they are striking ordinary cities, ordinary life. And the continued use of missiles against Ukraine, against our people, our children, is an absolutely deliberate choice of terror. This is what Moscow chooses – despite all our efforts with partners to bring peace closer. And this is a clear reason why more pressure on Russia is needed and why Ukraine needs more defense packages. It is important that leaders understand this. It is important that the world not remain silent today.
Overall, 25 people were killed in this massive Russian strike on Ukraine. One hundred people were injured. It was a combined attack, involving many ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as “shaheds.” This is the kind of “gift” Putin gave himself for his birthday.
Ukrainian warriors shot down 44 missiles – both cruise and ballistic. Not all of those launched by Russia, and ballistic missiles are especially difficult to deal with. We suppressed 117 “shaheds” – most of those launched, but unfortunately, not all of them either.
Additional packages of air defense missiles are needed, as are additional measures to support Ukraine. And there will be appropriate packages. The threat is there every day, and every day, our air defense batteries need to have missiles ready. We strongly count on prompt deliveries from our partners.
Zelensky says a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile directly hit a residential building in Pryluky, killing 19 people, including five children. Overall, he said Russia’s combined attack across Ukraine killed 25 people and injured 100. The attack involved multiple ballistic and cruise missiles as well as Shahed drones. Zelensky said Russia continued launching Shahed drones and aerial bombs during the day and called for stronger international pressure on Moscow. #Ukraine
This tiny baby's hand wrapped in a blanket. I am completely broken and devastated.
I don't know what else the 'free world' needs to see. And I don't know how much of that 'freedom' is even left anymore.
A plague that can kill you in 24 hours is rapidly spreading in Russia right now but don't worry folks, Donald Trump eliminated the Directorate for Global Health Security and Biodefense, and Elon Musk defunded the CDC
Moscow protested against the tsar. Police rushed straight at teenagers.
People screamed: “Don’t touch the children. You kill children in this war every day.”
Are they finally realizing their own kids will be mobilized next?
😄 Prague has found the perfect use for Putin — printing his face on dog-poop bags
The idea came from Czech designer and humorist Tomáš Břímek. Part of the proceeds from the bags goes to support Ukraine through the Dárek pro Putina initiative — “A Gift for Putin.”
Keeping the city clean — and the karma clean too.
Ukraine is amazing! Responsible for the depletion of US stockpiles of weapons that were never sent to Ukraine and for the price of diesel that was stable throughout months Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries, and only spiked when Trump attack attacked Iran.
