I’m honestly so frustrated with everything that’s happening in Uttarakhand right now. I’m mad really mad that we, the native people, keep choosing the wrong government and the wrong leaders, and we’re the ones who end up paying the price.
Today, my mom and I were coming back home from an evening out in Rajpur Road. It was around 7:49 PM when, near Survey Chowk, I noticed a car without a number plate. Right after that, there was another car with a Gujarat number plate driving so rashly that it felt like he could kill someone any moment. A few seconds later, two more cars came speeding up on the wrong side of the road they almost hit me and my mom.
That moment honestly scared me. It made me realize how unsafe it has become to simply walk on the road, ride a scooter, or even drive a car in your own city , all because of reckless drivers who think they can do anything. And thanks to our CM Dhami, the situation is getting worse every day.
This was supposed to be a smart city. But now, people are drinking and driving openly, driving on the wrong side, overspeeding and no one is stopping them. Every other day, there’s a new accident in Dehradun. There’s no proper management, no functioning cameras, no active police presence. The traffic system is a complete failure.
It breaks my heart that ordinary people’s lives are being put at risk because of political negligence and lack of accountability. How long are we supposed to live like this? Who takes responsibility when someone loses their life on these roads?
