Since then, our @sewanyaya team has been making regular visits and supporting the family with funds. We even paid six months’ advance rent for relocation. Sadly the family has still not been able to move

Yesterday, when my team member @rudrakartikeya visited, the girl revealed that mother of one of the accused, Nazia, has been barging into her home in her parents’ absence and threatening her, keeping her hands around the girl’s neck as if she would strangle her

Our team immediately took the girl’s mother to police station, and got a formal complaint filed (attached). Thankfully the police officer was cooperative

I have repeatedly observed that in communal atrocity cases, the victim Hindu family is often left isolated, fearful and without support from immediate neighbourhood. In contrast, accused’s side tends to stick together, even to shield perpetrators.

Ideally, people should stand with Satya and Right above all identities. Sadly, concept of Ummah has poisoned this principle

दोस्तों, कल दोपहर कहीं जाने की तैयारी में था। तभी सोसाइटी के ग्रुप में एक मैसेज पॉप हुआ—“मेरे पुत्र का अचानक निधन हो गया है। अंतिम संस्कार आज शाम 4 बजे है।”

“पुत्र का निधन हो गया है... ”ईश्वर किसी को ऐसा दिन न दिखाए, जब उसे लिखना पड़े कि “मेरे पुत्र का निधन हो गया है।”

यह पढ़ते ही नज़रें वहीं रुक गईं। पता चला, जिनकी मृत्यु हुई थी वे मेरे फ्लैट के बिल्कुल नीचे वाले फ्लैट में ही रहते थे।

पता चला कि वो सुबह वे ऑफिस जाने के लिए तैयार हो रहे थे। तभी अचानक पेट में दर्द होने लगा, कुछ घबराहट हुई। इससे पहले कि कोई कुछ समझ पाता, उनके नाक से खून निकला और अस्पताल ले जाने से पहले ही उनकी मृत्यु हो गई।

मेरी उनसे कभी मुलाकात नहीं हुई थी। उनके परिवार से कोई व्यक्तिगत परिचय भी नहीं था। हाँ, उनके बच्चे अक्सर लिफ्ट में मिल जाते थे।

मैसेज पढ़ते ही मैं मदर के साथ नीचे गया। पड़ोसियों से पता चला कि वे लोग अभी अस्पताल से लौट रहे हैं। घर पर सिर्फ बच्चे थे। पिता को जब अटैक आया, तब बच्चे सो रहे थे, और उन्हें तब तक पता भी नहीं था कि हुआ क्या है।

शाम को उनके अंतिम संस्कार में गया। उसके बाद एक ज़रूरी कार्यक्रम में भी जाना पड़ा। मगर इस दौरान बार-बार उनके बच्चों का चेहरा आँखों के सामने आता रहा।

मैं सोचने लगा—हर पिता की तरह उनके पापा भी ऑफिस जाने से पहले बच्चों को बाय करते जाते होंगे। बच्चे सो भी रहे हों, तो माँ-बाप
उन्हें प्यार करके ही घर से निकलते हैं। मेरे पड़ोसी भी ऐसा ही करते होंगे।

मगर कल उन्हें ऐसा कोई मौका ही नहीं मिला। बच्चे सो रहे थे, और उनकी नींद के दौरान पिता इस दुनिया से चले गए।

आप जीवन की अनिश्चितता देखिए। इस अनिश्चितता के सामने इंसान की हैसियत देखिए।

एक इंसान—जिसकी उस दिन दोपहर में किसी के साथ मीटिंग होगी, बच्चों के साथ वीकेंड का कोई प्लान होगा, गर्मियों में कहीं घूमने जाने का इरादा होगा, दो साल में कोई इन्वेस्टमेंट मैच्योर होने वाली होगी—वह सुबह नौ बजे तैयार हो रहा था, और दस बजे तक गुजर गया। चार बजे तक उसका अंतिम संस्कार हो गया। और अगली सुबह जब घर वाले सोकर उठे तो वो कहीं नहीं था।

न किसी को गुडबाय बोल पाया,
न किसी को अपनी अंतिम ख्वाहिश बता पाया—
और चुपचाप इस दुनिया से चला गया।

दोस्तों, इस पोस्ट को लिखने का मेरा मकसद अपने दुख में भागीदार बनाना नहीं है। और न ही किसी की मौत हमारे लिए कंटेंट हो सकती है।

इसका सिर्फ एक ही मकसद है—हम जीवन की इस अनिश्चितता का सम्मान करें।
जब भी आप ज़िंदगी के अंतिम पड़ाव पर पहुंचेंगे, तो दो चीज़ें आपको सबसे ज़्यादा मलाल देंगी।

पहली—
जिन्हें मैं चाहता था, उनके साथ वक्त नहीं बिता पाया।
चाहे वह आपके बच्चों का बचपन हो, या दूसरे शहर में अकेले ज़िंदगी गुज़ारते आपके माँ-बाप।

दूसरी—
मैंने कभी खुद को आज़माया ही नहीं।
मैंने कभी वह काम करने की कोशिश ही नहीं की, जो मैं करना चाहता था।

यकीन मानिए, दोस्तों—आप जीवन में कितना भी पैसा कमा लें, या कितने भी बड़े पद पर पहुँच जाएँ। लेकिन अगर आप अपनों के साथ वक्त नहीं बिता पाए, तो दुनिया में कोई अलादीन का चिराग उस दर्द को भर नहीं सकता। खुद को न आज़माने की आपकी टीस को कम नहीं कर सकता।

जीवन इतना अनिश्चित है कि सड़क पर एक पाँव गलत पड़ा और पीछे से आती गाड़ी आपको कुचलकर चली जाती है—और आप नहीं रहते।
जो भी यह पोस्ट पढ़ रहा है, उससे मेरी यही गुज़ारिश है कि इस अनिश्चितता का सम्मान करें।

व्यस्तता की आड़ में बच्चों के साथ वक्त बिताने को टालिए मत।
काम की मजबूरी में माँ-बाप को उनके हाल पर छोड़ देना नियति मत मानिए।

उचित समय के इंतज़ार में सपनों को स्थगित मत कीजिए।
क्योंकि जिस कल के भरोसे यह प्यार, ये सपने स्थगित किए जा रहे हैं—उस कल ने आपसे वादा निभाने का कोई अनुबंध नहीं किया है।
वो ऐसा वादा किसी से भी नहीं करता।

मैं जानता हूँ, ये बात बहुत बार कही जा चुकी है। लेकिन जो है, वह इसी पल में है। इसी आज में है।

अगर आज आपने उन लोगों के साथ एक घंटा भी खुलकर बात की, जो आपके अपने हैं—और उस घंटे में आप पूरी तरह मौजूद रहे—तो यकीन मानिए, अगर कल वे बिना बताए भी चले जाएँ, तो यह एक घंटा सारी ज़िंदगी आपके साथ रहेगा।

साथ बिताए उन पलों की यादें आपको कभी ग्लानि से नहीं भरने देंगी।
उसी तरह असफलता की पीड़ा, खुद को न आज़माने के दर्द के सामने कुछ भी नहीं है।

इसलिए कुछ भी स्थगित मत कीजिए—
न प्यार,
न सपने,
न चाहतें।
जो है, बस अभी है।
कल—कुछ भी नहीं।
