@Balavage The consultant ‘cleaned’ everything really well so I didn’t really bleed much after. I think elective c sections are much easier in terms of recovery than emergency ones
@Balavage With the second one I could tell the signs so he didn’t get quite as dehydrated but I had gestational diabetes and their fridge broke so they threw away my colostrum without asking me. Because they were convinced the babies were feeding well they didn’t offer or suggest formula.
@Balavage Colostrum is recommended for babies that may experience issues with blood sugar so I found that negligent. Things might have changed since, I had my first 10 years ago and the second 7..
@Balavage I could get visitors and there was always a midwife available. However the midwives weren’t great at supporting breastfeeding or understanding that my babies weren’t feeding well (they said he was) so I ended up in a&e with a dehydrated baby the day after I was discharged!
