It’s not even necessarily a bad thing, but makes it easier to understand why they don’t take to things like football (soccer) as well as other sports - because the actual action is king.
I’ve clocked it.. Americans don’t actually care about the sports they watch, they just like the show that comes with it.
Hence HT shows, opening/closing ceremonies, draft days etc etc
The actual game/competition is the side show.
