My german friend: "How did you manage to have such an international career while living in Portugal?"
Me: "Dude, no one cares where in the world I'm sitting, as long as I deliver the value. We are a little square in zoom these days."
Great careers no longer require emigration!
Me using PHP and jQuery shouldn’t make you use PHP and jQuery
It should make you realize it’s mostly irrelevant what tech you use
More relevant that you make a product people want to pay for
I think
https://t.co/jZn6eesb2K is now almost 14,000 lines of raw PHP mixed with inline HTML, CSS in <style> and raw JS in <script> tags
I did not use TS, flexbox or frameworks except jQuery
A lot of $.ajax() and float:left though
It has 1,872 paying customers making $61,808 per month
Stuff few people tell you:
Being good at debugging at large tech companies is a good part this:
Knowing where to find the right dashboards (and know how to use them + filter/search in them) which make debugging prod issues *so* much easier.
Hey @polarsteps, it would be great to have a feature to enable/disable the steps on the map, so you could see clearly your travel path :) what do you think ?
Anyway, awesome jobs guys 👍
@polarsteps Thanks. Yes I did. Don't know why, sometimes the apps stop tracking ... Probably a phone settings stop the background tracking for battery saving ...
You should add this feature maybe ? :) Could be great :)
@polarsteps hey, is it possible to add some points at defined time, without creating a step, in order to correct the path ? Sometimes the apps stops tracking and do a big jump between 2 dates ...
