@teasri This argument made sense 20 years ago. Today, with solar at grid parity and nuclear making a comeback (coupled with India's thorium resources) ... it's just posturing.
@Saunamoon @MicNation@benjamincowen Also, Matic's buying up competitors and building a suite of products (have publicly stated AWS as their model).
I'd suggest a closer look.
@Saunamoon @MicNation@benjamincowen We haven't scratched the surface of the adoption of blockchain yet, and ETH is already slow/expensive/low latency. As things stand, ETH 2.0 cannot support just MC/Visa.
Consider 'transactions' volume if companies start moving public blockchains en masse.
@MicNation @Saunamoon @benjamincowen Eth 2.0 is the best thing that's happened to Matic. We'll find out quickly that Eth 2.0 is still not enough (tps) to make ETH the 'world computer'. They need a solid Layer 2.
Anyone know who started Matic? ... watched an interview? No? Why not? Coz they're not sexy.
@Saunamoon @benjamincowen Let me take my own chart seriously for a moment and see how this might work 😉 -
MCap - total : 2.7tn today - tgt: 10tn
MCap - ex BTC/ETH : 1tn today - tgt: 5tn
There's room.
@leadlagreport ... in theory.
But raising rates will also have an effect on employment / income. And we've raised baseline living costs (insurance, housing, transportation) to where even a short-term hit to income / employment is unthinkable for 50% of the US.
