Once without a home, now helping others find theirs. 🏠
After 20 years of hardship—sleeping rough on the streets of Shepherd’s Bush, battling addiction, and being in and out of hospitals and prisons—our ex-client, Mark, has turned his life around.
Today, he’s working to help others find the support he once needed, joining the service that helped him rebuild his life.
💬 In Mark’s words:
“My lived experience can help someone else. I used to think it was something to be ashamed of, but now I see that the challenges I’ve faced can inspire hope. For someone still struggling with addiction, my story might help them with their struggles.
“Helping others gives my life meaning and purpose, and that’s what was missing in my life when I was using.”

We couldn’t be prouder of Mark and his incredible work to support others. His story shows that homelessness is an experience, not a forever—and with the right support, it can be ended. ✨

On June 28, the US Supreme Court ruled that cities can enact and enforce laws against people sleeping rough.
This is the biggest decision on homelessness in the US since the 1980s, but it's a step in the wrong direction. Criminalising homelessness is counterproductive and wrong.

Homelessness is not a crime. ❌
Their proposed Criminal Justice Bill mean people who are rough sleeping could face fines up to £2,500 for so-called ‘nuisance’ #roughsleeping.
We shouldn’t be punishing people on the street but connecting them to the right support.
