Nigga is becoming a word that anyone can linguistically use, whether people socially accept that use or not. AI is helping accelerate something interesting: Black Americans took a racial slur and transformed one form of it into a term of friendship, familiarity and endearment. Now AI, trained on that culture and speaking without a racial identity of its own, is helping circulate that version of the word globally. I don’t really have feelings about it either way. I just think it’s fascinating to watch the boundary change in real time.
