When a citizen asks for basic transparency on the fuel entering their vehicle, the system shuts every single door.

The Supreme Court has dismissed a plea seeking mandatory ethanol blend disclosure on dispensers and fuel receipts. But the opacity runs far deeper than just point-of-sale labelling.

When I filed RTIs with ARAI and public sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) requesting the underlying technical research, test logs, and engine compatibility data for E20, the responses were denied citing "commercial confidence and confidentiality."

Think about the absurdity of this setup:
The government and OMCs claim E20 is extensively researched and safe. Yet, when asked to produce the scientific test reports, it becomes a "confidential" secret.

When asked to simply display the blend percentage at the pump so consumers know what they are buying, courts tell citizens to start over at the High Court.

Who bears the cost?
- Drop in fuel efficiency due to lower calorific value.
- Corrosion, phase separation, and damaged fuel injectors/lines in older & incompatible vehicles.
- Zero OEM warranty coverage for fuel-related damage - with no blend printed on the bill to even prove what was dispensed.

Consumer rights and accountability shouldn't end at the fuel nozzle. If the data is sound, why hide the reports? If the fuel is safe, why hide the label?

@volklub Dispite filling from @Jiobpofficial my Royal Enfield BS3 carburettor develop fault and get damaged with E20. Running from a Decade without issue and suddenly this forceful E20 damage it . They will pay the price in 2029.

They rushed to implement E20 without fixing the contamination problem first. E20 with contaminated fuel became the perfect recipe for ruining petrol cars.

They remained in denial mode. Now, after the customer-powered backlash, they are accepting the fundamental issues because everything is being blamed on E20.

Very satisfying, because they killed the car lover in us.

12–13 hours stranded on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway. ZERO information. ZERO facilities.
No public announcement. No guidance to avoid travel or take a U-turn. IRB continued collecting tolls while passengers were left stranded for hours without water, toilets, or medical aid.
Helplines went unanswered. Officials vanished.
VVIP convoys got priority. Common citizens got chaos.
