Sorry but vaccines are not the best defence against covid. The best defence against covid is not catching covid. Best way (until government clean air & inform public of long-term covid harm) is to wear a respirator 😷 Vaccines don’t stop transmission, or Long Covid.
@1goodtern I worked in a metal casting foundry and wore a face mask because there was dangerous stuff in the air, wore a mask for forest fire smoke, and it makes sense to do the same for Covid - it’s dangerous and it’s in the air.
Next time someone accuses you of having an anxiety disorder for being Covid cautious but refuses to read any scientific papers or links you send, you can turn it on them -- avoidance is a big sign of an anxiety disorder
"Flu-like illness" should be "covid-like illness" if ppl are being honest. Covid is by far the statistically most likely explanation. If you're afraid to say that you should get your anxiety treated & stop living in denial. It's not healthy.

The mirror that caught our attention well over a mile away 👀 only way we we were able to find someone stranded in the mountains at bottom of steep canyon. 6 attempts to land due to difficulty but we got there - got him a chainsaw, EpiPens, insulin, chicken food, formula, gas, 2 stroke oil, and sandwiches premade from Harris Teeter before we left #hurricanehelene
Things I’d like to see change after #Helene and other recent events: 1) NWS issue a “major flood watch” instead of usual “flood watch” on @NWSWPC high risk days, and 2) targeted evacuations in advance for the most vulnerable towns near rivers and in valleys in the high risk area.
US National Transportation Safety Board issues urgent safety recommendations about the potential for a jammed rudder control system on some Boeing 737 airplanes after a February incident involving a United Airlines flight.
The NTSB is investigating an incident in which the rudder pedals on a United Boeing 737 MAX 8 were "stuck" in the neutral position during a landing at Newark. There were no injuries to the 161 passengers and crew.
The Federal Aviation Administration said it has been monitoring this situation closely and on Friday "will convene a corrective action review board based upon the NTSB’s interim recommendations and determine next steps."

"Optimizing the Patient Environment"
Every now and then I go back to the Long Covid guidance from the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, and am just amazed by how good it is.
How thoughtful it is.
How professional it is.
How deeply scientific and compassionate and realistic it is.
Saurya Airlines CRJ-200ER crashes on takeoff from Kathmandu Tribhuvan Airport, Nepal. Local media says that nineteen people, including crew members, were aboard the plane.
The aircraft diverted safely to Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport. The incident comes weeks after a Southwest Airlines 737 descended to 500 feet while on approach to Oklahoma City in June and about 400 feet of the ocean off of Hawaii during poor weather conditions in April.
