👉ICAI's Corporate Laws Committee (CLC) has missed the mark by issuing a generic, panic-inducing advisory that fails to clarify basic operational realities. By omitting the crucial fact that private sector banks remain fully operational during UFBU-led strikes, the committee has caused unnecessary alarm for practitioners rushing to meet critical September 30th deadlines. Members deserve precise, well-researched guidance from their leadership, not half-baked notices that lack basic industry context.
👉Instead of negotiating aggressively with the CBDT (@IncomeTaxIndia) for a logical and necessary tax audit due date extension, ICAI Central Council Members choose to issue tone-deaf corporate templates that shift 100% of the burden onto the shoulders of CAs.
We are professionals, not bonded labor forced to fix systemic infrastructure failures at midnight. Central Council members need to wake up, stop pleasing authorities, and actually stand up for the people who elected them! 😡💼

A Tax Audit is not merely the filing of Form 3CD. It involves examination of books and records, reconciliation, verification of supporting documents, tax analysis, documentation and professional judgement.

The quality of this process directly affects the accuracy of tax reporting and the integrity of the compliance system.

WHY IS AN EXTENSION NEEDED?

A thorough audit cannot be reduced to a race against the clock.
