President @Christodulides this week visited the "Cyprus Insula - History, Memory, Reality" exhibition, organised by @CyprusMFA in the framework of #CY2026EU.

The exhibition is open to the public until 19 July at Gare Maritime in Brussels.

🇪🇺🇨🇾 Η Κυπριακή Προεδρία του Συμβουλίου της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης @CY2026EU ολοκληρώνεται αφήνοντας ένα ισχυρό αποτύπωμα αποτελεσμάτων σε ολόκληρο το ευρωπαϊκό ο��κοδόμημα. Με στόχο μια πιο αυτόνομη Ευρώπη, ανοικτή στον κόσμο, η Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία εργάστηκε μεθοδικά για την ενίσχυση της ευρωπαϊκής ασφάλειας και άμυνας, την προώθηση της ανταγωνιστικότητας, την ενεργειακή ολοκλήρωση, τη διαχείριση της μετανάστευσης, τη διεύρυνση της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης και τη στήριξη της Ουκρανίας, συμβάλλοντας καθοριστικά στη λήψη σημαντικών αποφάσεων για το κοινό ευρωπαϊκό μέλλον.

Ο Πρόεδρος της Δημοκρατίας @PresidentCYP @Christodulides , παρουσιάζοντας τον απολογισμό της Κυπριακής Προεδρίας μαζί με τον Πρόεδρο του Ευρωπαϊκού Συμβουλίου @eucopresident Antonio Costa και την Πρόεδρο της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής @vonderleyen, ανέφερε ότι τα αποτελέσματα των τελευταίων έξι μηνών επιβεβαιώνουν πως η Ευρώπη προχωρά μπροστά όταν υπάρχει κοινός προσανατολισμός, συνεργασία και πολιτική βούληση. Μέσα από μια Προεδρία που χαρακτηρίστηκε από συνέπεια, υπευθυνότητα και αποτελεσματικότητα, η Κύπρος απέδειξε ότι μπορεί να ��ιαδραματίσει πρωταγωνιστικό ρόλο στις ευρωπαϊκές εξελίξεις, συμβάλλοντας στην ενίσχυση της ανθεκτικότητας, της ανταγωνιστικότητας και της στρατηγικής αυτονομίας της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης.

👉 Represented the @EUCouncil at the European Parliament June Plenary Session in #Strasbourg, the last under the #CY2026EU Presidency.

With 14 days to go until the end of our Presidency, I am proud to say that we have delivered results across the European agenda.

This includes progress on our Union’s long-term budget, the #MFF, which was a core focus of today’s discussions in Luxembourg, ahead of the leaders’ meeting this week.

At today’s last General Affairs Council under the #CY2026EU Presidency, we reached a significant milestone in the negotiations on the next MFF, agreeing on partial negotiating positions on three key building blocks of the future EU budget.

The work continues until the very last minute of our mandate, for a European Union that is more Autonomous.

We promised. We Delivered.

📌 DEAL

Today, the @EUCouncil and @Europarl_EN reached a provisional deal on an EU Regulation which will enable faster and more effective EU-wide procedures for the return of persons illegally staying in member states.

The agreement complements the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum and will contribute to its effective implementation.

A good exchange today with Nick Thomas-Symonds @NickTorfaen, Minister for the Constitution and European Union Relations of the #UnitedKingdom in Lefkosia, on the margins of the informal meeting of EU Ministers for European Affairs. 🇨🇾🇪🇺

Our discussion focused on bilateral cooperation and 🇪🇺-🇬🇧 relations, including ways to build on the positive momentum of the first EU-UK Summit last May and further strengthen cooperation, particularly in areas of shared strategic interest.

�� The #CY2026EU Presidency remains committed to advancing EU-UK relations and working towards tangible, mutually beneficial deliverables.
