"Combining contradictory tasks—patriotism and socialism—was the fatal mistake of the French socialists. In the Manifesto of the International, issued in September 1870, Marx had warned the French proletariat against being misled by a false national idea; the Great Revolution,
@anArrogantCruxo The CEO has written about it extensively and it is significantly included in CCRO (the ICT text on our views on the party/class question). https://t.co/tZeIozThTd
@Greynxgga69@Phormio_Lake see that's what I mean. Your terminology is, at best, misleading! You claim there is no question, but then after a couple of questions from me, your term seems to be nothing more than a pretty turn of phrase. Why not be honest and dispense with the concept entirely?
There is an argument and practical experience has shown the party-state theory to be wrong and detrimental to the communist movement. A political party is necessary, but a political party is not the whole class (else you agree with Kautsky-ite mass parties).
Theres no argument against Party dictatorship from a communist standpoint. ALL other class organizations are defined by the divisions carved out by capital for the proletariat. The Party must be above the state for the state (or class) to ever be overcome.
@Greynxgga69@Phormio_Lake so to you the dictatorship of the proletariat can only happen if the proletariat submits to the rule of the party? then there had only ever been 1 dotp by your definition? And even then I guess only after the left sr revolt of 1918. Your theory then contradicts Marx's def of dotp
@Greynxgga69@Phormio_Lake because how late could the German revolution have saved the Russian? 1926? what about China in 1928? Maybe not Spain in 1934. How early did the state degenerate? 1918 with the sovnarkom? 1919 with militarization of labor? 1921?
@Greynxgga69@Phormio_Lake Where did I say the bourgeois dictatorship was established in 1921? And "can't be justified"? Seriously? The Kronstadt revolt, the end of the civil war/war communism, the party Congress banning factions? for us, its a process from 1918-1928. Otherwise is too narrow
@Greynxgga69@Phormio_Lake so then it's entirely rhetorical? "the program must be put into practice by the proletariat as a whole" is a perfect acceptable (and clearer!) way of phrasing the same thing, no?
@Phormio_Lake@Greynxgga69 the bordigist conception here, imo as in many other places, is either a terrible idea (genuine dictatorship of the party fusing with the state) or a confusing term that isn't useful and may be actively harmful
@Phormio_Lake@Greynxgga69 and what is it implying but the integration of the state and the party? how else do you exercise a dictatorship except through the state?
@Greynxgga69@Phormio_Lake that does not mean it was sudden, and you can see that we don't even say "the dotp ended on x day" because it doesn't work like that. Choose a date, but 1921 was the turning point
@Greynxgga69@Phormio_Lake that is simply not what the ICT believes. The process of decay began in 1918 with the worsening conditions of the civil war and the hammer blows were delivered in 1921. 1926 or 1928 or 1936 are all dates important, but 1921 is the separation for us
@Greynxgga69@Phormio_Lake if you don't believe in the dictatorship (in class sense) of the party, then you are running in rhetorical circles trying to justify using a. useless and confusing term.
@Greynxgga69@Phormio_Lake then what benefit is there in even using the term "dictatorship of the party", a term calling back to the dictatorship of the proletariat, if you don't think the party has anything to do with the state at all?
