Principal Architect at Vonage (part of Ericsson) AI made me do it! Views are my own. And so are my models & controllers!

[Paul Ardeleanu 👨‍💻 🥑 @pardel]

I use Claude Code and Codex side by side and wanted both plans' limits in one view, plus real token numbers for the day and the last 7 and 30 days.

So I built Tokenz, a macOS menu bar app that does both.

Each tool gets its 5-hour percentage in the menu bar, with a line underneath that fills with the week's usage. Click it for all the details, computed from the logs already on your Mac. No network requests.

Every number it shows is something a provider reported or something a log on your Mac recorded. Where it has neither, it leaves the space empty, never 0%.

Codex needs no setup. Claude Code's plan limits come through a status line, on Pro and Max plans, and Tokenz offers to set one up.

0.1.0, macOS 14 or later, Swift, MIT:
```brew install pardel/tap/tokenz```
@swombat I didn't know about that. Thank you! Oh, well...
Write-up, with both scripts and clips of my real voice next to five clones: https://t.co/hab8Ui9i6E
[Paul Ardeleanu 👨‍💻 🥑 @pardel]
Change one slide's script and my talk recording is out of date. I'm not re-recording a whole talk for one paragraph, so I cloned my voice, on my own laptop.
The first clone sounded too American. 117 variants later, Qwen3-TTS sounds the closest to how I actually speak.
@ivanburazin Ha! You should come to my apiDays London talk tomorrow. That’s the whole spiel of my talk 😂
I've added WebMCP to my site. An agent in Chrome can now search my posts, list my projects and talks, and open a page, through tools the site declares instead of scraping the HTML.
Why each principle: https://t.co/x13qoS8cWL
[Paul Ardeleanu 👨‍💻 🥑 @pardel]
Every second-brain system solves capture, and almost none solve trust. GOVERN is six principles for trusting an AI-run knowledge base: Gates, Origins, Verification, Evidence, Rules, Nothing assumed.
The starter kit that puts them in place is public today.
[Paul Ardeleanu 👨‍💻 🥑 @pardel]
Mine's been running nearly five months: 260+ compiled notes, ~2,700 preserved originals, 1,350+ commits. The gates list is still short, and everything else happens without asking.
