11 June 2026 | Time: 10h00 – Cllr Devon Steenkamp
I have received the following update from Joburg Water regarding the ongoing water supply interruptions affecting parts of Ward 134.
1️⃣ *Bromhof and Randpark Ridge*
• Joburg Water has identified a problematic supply line which requires intervention.
• An emergency contractor is currently being sourced to attend to the issue.
• At this stage, there is no indication of when the contractor will be appointed or when repairs will commence.
2️⃣ *Northgate, Northriding AH and Surrounding Areas*
• Repairs to the identified pipe burst have been completed.
• Technical teams are, however, still working on the Blandford Road water supply line.
• This line supplies multiple areas, including Northgate, Northriding AH, Celebration Retirement Estate, Montrose Avenue and neighbouring streets.
• While some areas have received water supply, others remain without water, and Joburg Water is still investigating what is preventing full restoration across the network.
• The ongoing work on the Blandford Road line is believed to be contributing to the continued supply interruptions being experienced in affected areas.
• Joburg Water teams remain on site and are continuing with restoration efforts.
Thank you to residents who continue to report their water supply status, as this information assists in directing investigations.
Kind regards,
Cllr Devon Steenkamp
Ward 134 Councillor
@JHBWater Are you f@%*ing serious. You have been aware for 4 days now. You keep reporting that it "could be this valve or could be that pipe". Now it's a pressure line that needs 5 days to repair. You are just trying to keep us quiet for 5 days! BS @HellenZille@CyrilRamaphosa#bromhof
@THEDEVCHEV You have been reporting for the past 4 days what the problem in #bromhof "could be" now you report it is the pressure line. What if it is not the pressure line. Trying to buy 5 days of BS time! How come it came on for about 30 minutes yesterday morning?
