Check this preprint which covers a big chunk of my doctoral work here at @Goldman_Group . A big thanks to Faraj, @alansgoldman for completing this story. And a huge shoutout to @iridium_tea for fruitful discussions on cationic pincer iridium chemistry.
🚨Check out this new preprint https://t.co/2MELMk5N9x by @Parihar_chemist of @Goldman_Group at @RutgersChem reporting (iPrPCP)IrH+ for dehydrogenation, hydrogenation & H/D exchange with unusual selectivity. Proceeding via a novel mechanism of C-H addition & beta-H elimination.
🚨Check out this preprint from @Goldman_Group on (Pybox)Os-catalyzed tail-to-tail homo/hetero coupling of α-olefins. Striking mechanistic differences from isoelectronic (Phebox)Ir shed light on fundamental oxidative addition/reductive elimination steps.

Proud of this work with collaborator (and former group member) Santanu Malakar @random_chemist, lead author Souvik Mandal @souvik_mndl, and team including Samuel Zhou, Rachel Allen, Faraj Hasanayn, Alex Miller, Quinton Bruch - see paper for all authors...!
@Goldman_Group@Parihar_chemist@RutgersChem Several bizarre aspects of this system include a huge preference for both dehydrogenation AND hydrogenation of 5, 7 and 8 membered rings vs. 6-membered. Much gratitude (and possible co-authorship?) to any organic-savvy chemist who can find a good application for this selectivity!
Kudos to @Parihar_chemist for an awesome study revealing a novel mode of C-H activation/ dehydrogenation/hydrogenation by a protonated pincer Ir catalyst
Congratulations to my mentor of grad school @random_chemist who will be starting as an Assistant Professor. He introduced me to the field of organometallic chemistry (experimental and computational).
PS: His students will be lucky to have a guide like him.
Celebrated our postdoc @random_chemist Santanu's last day with a chinatown lunch and boba 🧋 outing! Santanu has accepted a position as an Assistant Professor at Rutgers University-Camden Congratulations Santanu!!!

Excited to share a new paper published in @JMaterChem
where we show that Bismuth can enhance the electrocatalytic activity of Cobalt oxide towards acidic oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and Bismuth can also serve as an active site.

Now published in @ACSEarthSpace !
Check out @atulCthakur's latest on plastic crystals on Titan - this one might still be rotating at very low temperatures 🥶🪐

A major team effort (Rutgers, UNC and AUB)! Synthesis and multi-pronged study of a new Mo catalyst for N2 to NH3 yields deeper insight into the workings of such catalysts. Congrats team leads @random_chemist @souvik_mndl@SamuelZhou5 https://t.co/L7YbMQuoh2

Thiamin Biosynthesis!! Radical SAM Enzyme!! Remarkably Complex Chemistry!!
Check out our work on the mechanistic enzymology of the ThiC-catalyzed reaction in bacterial thiamin biosynthesis in @ACSCentSci. It was a great team effort. (1/3)
