You’d probably never guess what MrBeast spends the most money on.
Interviewer: "What has been your biggest personal splurge?"
Mr Beast: "One time my fiancée, she was studying in the UK, and I really wanted to see her."
"I don't live near a major airport so like, all my, I have to drive two hours to an airport to then take a layover to take a layover to get to places because our airport is so small."
"One time I was like, screw it, I'm just gonna rent a private jet and fly to her because I really want to see her”
“But if I don't rent a PJ, I literally just can't make it work because a PJ flight is 8 hours, where as like commercial would be like 19, there and back”
“ it's like so much wasted time and that was probably like $150,000. I felt so bad but I was like, I don't know, I just really want to see my fiancée, or at the time my girlfriend”
Caleb Hammer says the biggest financial trap for many Americans isn’t debt it’s renting.
Caleb Hammer:
“I have come to kind of a conclusion on my, on my side when I think about for the average American”
“Like, at the beginning I said, you know, maybe renting makes more sense, but I think actually for the average American, if you can get in a house, now I'm starting to think most should”
“Cause the average American is retarded”
Interviewer:
“So wait, you most should what?
Caleb Hammer:
“Get a house, because, again, they struggle, they spend everything”
“So, the entire thing of not buying a house is so you take that extra money that you get from renting right now and put it in the stock market”
“That will make more money than housing appreciation. But, the average American savings rate is like 2% last year”
“Are they really going to invest the rest? No. So, force them to ride appreciation in the stock market, 'cause they will blow or in the housing market, 'cause they will blow the money instead of investing it in the stock market”
“So buy a house, and it's like being your hand holding all along the way for the next 30 years, you are forced there”
“You're not going to get out, you might take a home equity loan if you're really stupid, you might sell it, but hopefully if you make a profit”
“But at that point you're at least getting forced savings, 'cause Americans are too stupid to not just blow the money”
