We thank @CAgovernor for signing SB 63 into law. This bill will allow voters in five Bay Area counties to authorize a sales tax measure on the November 2026 ballot, with the funds to be dedicated to preserving and improving transit systems that the region relies on.

Being Mayor of San Francisco has been the greatest honor of my lifetime. I’m beyond grateful to our residents for the opportunity to serve the City that raised me. When I first took office in the middle of the night, back in 2017 when Mayor Ed Lee passed, I didn’t know what lay ahead. But I answered the call and always gave San Francisco and its people my heart and soul.
At the end of the day, this job is bigger than any one person and what matters is that we keep moving this City forward. Today, I called Daniel Lurie and congratulated him on his victory in this election. Over the coming weeks, my staff and I will work to ensure a smooth transition as he takes on the honor of serving as Mayor of San Francisco. I know we are both committed to improving this City we love.
I have always worked to be a Mayor for all San Franciscans. I want to thank all of the City staff who have worked tirelessly to improve this City for the last six years. I am the Mayor – but you all are doing the hard work every day and the City is on the rise. Over the coming weeks, I plan to reflect on all the progress we’ve made. But today, I am proud that we have truly accomplished so much and my heart is filled with gratitude.
During my final two months as your Mayor, I will continue to lead this City as I have from Day One – as San Francisco’s biggest champion.
Thank you.
Transamerica Pyramid is an iconic part of our skyline — an international symbol of San Francisco that represents what’s possible in this City. And today we celebrated a new era with the reopening of this transformative project in the heart of our Downtown.
This is a major boost for San Francisco — a $1 billion investment in Downtown that is leading the way on our economic revitalization. And it’s not just about a premier office building, but also a beautiful public Redwood grove, a sculpture garden, and two new restaurants to serve everyone who comes Downtown.
I’m grateful for @MichaelShvo’s investments and to Lord Norman Foster for somehow making our Transamerica Pyramid even better. What a beautiful day here in Downtown, but let’s be clear — we are just getting started with much more to come!
Tonight @KamalaHarris showed this country what kind of leader she is — tough, principled, presidential. And Donald Trump showed us what we all know him to be — divisive, destructive, delusional.
As Mayor, I’ve seen firsthand the damage Trump inflicted on our cities. We’re not going back. #TeamKamala.
Every day our city workers are out there doing the tough but necessary work with compassion and dedication to bring people indoors and clean up encampments.
For Mayor, the San Francisco Democratic Party announces @LondonBreed@TeamLondonBreed as our sole endorsement.
We support Mayor Breed’s commitment to build more housing, address our city’s public safety challenges, and strengthen the City’s economy:

The two superstar DJs were performing for the San Francisco audience when the power was cut off as the clock struck 10 p.m. and the city’s curfew took effect.

In San Francisco, we continue to uplift trans leaders who are fighting for the community.
I'm excited that Honey Mahogany will be coming on board to serve as our new Director of the Office of Transgender Initiatives. Honey has been a fierce advocate for trans people and the broader LGBT community, and I know she's ready to get to work advancing San Francisco's leadership in protecting and advancing trans rights and trans lives.
San Francisco is alive when our streets are filled with festivals, markets, and community events that bring people together and bring joy to our city. But too often we make it expensive and difficult to put on these wonderful events. So I am proposing to waive city fees for night markets, block parties, farmers markets, and more, and to streamline permitting for food vendors at these events.
Our work is delivering change. SF is stronger. Safer streets. A world-changing AI boom. National leadership in climate action & early education.
The best parks in the world. Muni leads the region in transit recovery. We have more work to do, but we have a lot to make us proud.
SF must embrace the changes we are making to become a city of yes. We must maximize our talent, creativity & spirit to build a stronger future.
We champion solutions that celebrate our strengths and overcome our challenges. Most importantly, we lead with pride and hope.
Thank you to the voters for passing Prop F to bring more treatment and accountability to San Francisco.
This is how we get more people the help they need and change what’s happening in our City.
Thank you to the voters for passing Prop E! This will help us build on our work to make San Francisco a safer city for all.
We are giving our @SFPD officers more tools to do their jobs and getting them out on the street to take care of our community.
Dianne Feinstein was an icon and a trailblazer. She was a fierce, unrelenting champion for our City, our State, and Country. As Mayor of San Francisco, she bravely led us out of dark, difficult times, lifting the spirits and hopes of many who felt lost in the wake of tragedy.
