This is the way forward. Thank you @TexasBaptists and all who are committed to “continue developing more strategies, resources, and advocacy initiatives to assist churches in affirming, appointing, and employing women in ministerial and leadership roles.” https://t.co/yAwXzs13qe
“Relegating women to specific roles—often preschool, children, youth, worship or women’s ministries—is to narrow the work of a gift-filled congregation and thus stifle the advancement of the gospel.” -@Jeff_Warren#SBC23
Hebrews 1 tell us that Jesus is not an example or illustration of an abstract principle or doctrine. Principles, doctrines, our beliefs refer to the Person of Jesus, and must defer to Him. He is perfect theology embodied.
Any claim to being “biblical” must look just like Jesus.
As a pastor, my reasons for advocating for women in ministry are three-fold: the gospel and its implications, the life and example of Jesus, and the advancement of his mission in the world.

We’re one week into 2021, friends. We desperately need of a clear vision of who God is and a clear vision of what it means to be a “Christian”. Let’s talk about that tomorrow. Join us in person or online @parkcitiesbap#Beyond
This morning I was on a call with pastors from across our city- across denominations, ethnicities & political lines- ALL united in Christ alone and above all else.
A divided nation needs a united Church. Lord, we come to you on behalf of our nation.
Jesus, YOU alone are KING.

The Christian’s response to the election should be one of grace-centered unity and prayer. In a divided nation, we can show a watching world that we are one in Christ alone. Let us be the answer to His prayer (John 17).
One aspect of our Church Pastoral Center @parkcitiesbap is an incredible group of new church planters. It’s been so good to be with them and encourage them as leaders. I’m grateful to our church family, Dr. Kelly Hamilton, and for our partnership with @TexasBaptists. Let’s go!

Today, during our citywide weekly pastors prayer time, I was reminded of the power of calling, the strength in encouragement, and the joy of unity when brothers and sisters cry out to the Lord on behalf of one another.
Everyone is weary. Encourage a leader in your life today.
