The idea of New York “owning” Philadelphia is laughable
- The Eagles are 28-8 against the Giants since 2008, including a 38-7 playoff win
- Saquon Barkley left the Giants for the Eagles and rushed for 2,000 yards and won a Super Bowl
- The Eagles have won 2 Super Bowls since the Giants’ last division title
- The Eagles are 12-1 all-time vs the Jets
- Phillies and Yankees both have 1 WS since 2000
- Phillies have 7 division titles/2 pennants/1 WS the last 20 years
- Mets have 2 division titles/0 pennants/0 WS the last 20 years
You can have the Knicks/Sixers matchup.
Adam Schefter on Jalen Hurts:
“What I find interesting, and it's just some food for thought here, when we think about it as we go along, we've spent an awful lot of time talking about Jalen Hurts, right? And that's fair, I got it. Big deal, polarizing figure to an extent, but Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert did their contract two weeks after Jalen Hurts. Why isn't anybody asking why they're not extending yet?”
Justin Herbert entering year 7:
- 0 Playoff wins
- 0 Division titles
- 0 First seeds clinched
- 3 Player of the week awards
- 4-8 vs KC and BUF
- 4 interceptions playoff game
Jalen Hurts Entering year 7:
- 6 playoff wins
- 3 Division Titles
- 1 first seed clinched
- 1 Superbowl trophy
- 1 SB MVP
- 19-11 vs NFC East
What a gap
I’m hearing from sources that Bills locker room and coaching staff have both complained that it’s difficult to build a championship caliber offense around Josh Allen’s limitations as a Quarterback, but are “afraid” to criticize him.
I never want to hear the name Kevin Patullo ever again. What an absolute waste of a season with the most loaded offense in the NFL. Absolute joke. Never, ever again.
An embarrassment beyond words
The offensive game plan for every Eagles game
- 10+ scripted plays: Jalen, AJ, Dallas, Devonta, and Saquon clearly directed during the week at practice with the staff.
- The rebuttals: From Nick and Patullo, simple plays with no complex route trees, occasional boring ass motions that add nothing to the play, and try to get run game going leading into half.
—Halftime—
- If leading in the game* go into conservative mode of not trying to lose the game instead of trying to win the game - lean on the run game that is non-existent due to… online not as good/beat up, Saquon not being elite or having a hole to hit, defenses knowing it’s coming, not setting anything up from the first half.
- If losing (rare)* - Run scripted plays that Jalen, AJ, Devonta, Dallas, and Saquon are directing in the locker room.
- Run a select set plays a directed just for AJ, Devonta, or Dallas individually at all times that have to rhythm with the offense, no route trees or formations that can piggyback off another type of explosive play. If the primary target the play is setup for is covered (likely) hit Saquon for a checkdown that will gain (minimal to no yards about 80% of the time). Then punt.
- If in a close game with 6 or less minutes*: Run the ball that once again isn’t working, setup 3rd and longs and have no answer besides a check-down. Then punt.
- Which then at times leads to Jalen and AJ saying fuck it and relying on a deep ball when there is less than 2 minutes and the team is in need of offense. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
