I just signed the petition calling on the Government to reverse their disastrous decision to cut winter fuel allowance. Will you join me? https://t.co/ZZeEyxw1O3
Putin indiscriminately butchers more Ukrainian civilians, killing and injuring 100 in Kyiv including children. And what is his reward under the latest peace proposals?
1. The right to keep sovereign Ukrainian territory he has taken by violence and in breach of international law.
2. The right to control Ukraine’s destiny by forbidding Nato membership
3. The lifting of sanctions against Russia
4. An economic partnership with America.
5. The chance to rebuild his armed forces for the next attack in a few short years’ time.
As for Ukraine - what do they get after three years of heroic resistance against a brutal and unprovoked invasion? What is their reward for the appalling sacrifices they have made - for the sake, as they have endlessly been told, of freedom and democracy around the world?
Apart from the right to share their natural resources with the United States they get nothing.
What is there in this deal that can realistically stop a third Russian invasion? Nothing.
If we are to prevent more atrocities by Putin then we must have a long term, credible and above all properly funded security guarantee for Ukraine - a guarantee issued by the UK, the US and all western allies.
Dear Christian friends in America who support Donald Trump.
On this, one of the most significant days in the Christian calendar, a day when we remember the mercy and grace of God, I would encourage you to help the President to grasp the most basic things about the Christian faith. This has to be one of the worst Easter messages from a president.
Compare Trump's words with Obama's:
"Michelle and I join our fellow Christians in observing Good Friday and celebrating Easter this weekend. This is a time to remember the sacrifices made for us and hold all who suffer close to our hearts. Yet it is also a time to rejoice, give thanks for the Resurrection, and unite with Christians around the world in proclaiming, 'Christ has risen; He has risen indeed.' We wish all who celebrate a blessed and joyful Easter."
Or Ronald Reagan's:
"Beginning today and culminating on Sunday morning, Christians will celebrate with their families the resurrection of Christ, His victory over death. We will remember that He gave His body and His blood—washing clean the faults and shortcomings of the world. In our rejoicing, we will renew the hope that is ours through the risen Lord."
Fascinating day in Westminster, working in partnership with Save Ukraine, a brilliant group working with Ukrainian children kidnapped by the Russians. We also came up with positive ways forward for our immigration system that works for all concerned.

Russia's goal is clear: they want to do everything possible to drive people out of Kharkiv and the region. Whatever Putin touches becomes ruins.
We must make every effort, both possible and impossible, to protect as many of our cities and communities as possible.
The entire city of Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region deserve our gratitude and honor, as does every Ukrainian community and person who refuses to bow to the enemy and makes every effort to safeguard life.
All of our partners around the world must understand that trust in them and the future of the free world can be achieved right now in cities such as Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, many towns in the Sumy and Donetsk regions, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions — everywhere where air defense is required and the world's political will is needed to make decisions that will safeguard life and ensure victory over Russian terror.
Today, I attended an iftar.
Last year, we established a new tradition of celebrating the holy Ramadan together: our country's political leadership, the military command, representatives from the Ukrainian Muslim community, the Crimean Tatar Mejlis, and the diplomatic corps. Unity is always important, especially in times of war and evil strikes.
Since March 11, when Ramadan began this year, there has not been a single quiet and safe day without Russian terror for all Ukrainians and the Ukrainian Muslim community. Nothing is sacred or valuable to Putin; he does not care who suffers or what faith he destroys because he only believes in violence. And he must lose—necessarily—as ensured by all of our people working together, everyone who contributes to the common good.
May Ramadan bring blessings to all of us—our people and our state. And may our unity stand firm. Ramadan Mubarak!
