Oceans Warm by Trapping Solar Heat in ways CO2 Can’t!
Solar energy can be "trapped" as heat in the ocean for days & weeks to decades in surface layers and up to centuries or even millennia in deeper layers. If heat can’t ventilate, it warms the oceans. In contrast, absorbed infrared energy from greenhouse gases can be lost almost immediately! Let’s do some math.
After accounting for clouds, reflection, and seasonal differences, the globally averaged solar radiation absorbed at the ocean surface is roughly ~170–180 W/m². Between 0-50 meter depths the water absorbs 90–95% (up to 171 W/m²) of that solar energy. Lower depths of 50–100 m absorb about 5–14 W/m², while the100–200 m depths absorb 2–5 W/m². Heat from those layers is trapped until it can be transported up to the ocean’s very top ~0.1 millimeters, the ocean’s skin surface. Any ocean heat can only ventilate from that skin surface.
Due to re-cycling of upward escaping longwave infrared, the downward longwave radiation (DLR) from greenhouse gases averages ~350–360 W/m², twice the solar input. However, despite more DLR, the energy cannot penetrate deeper than the skin surface, the ocean’s top ~0.1 mm. All that DLR is absorbed completely in the skin surface where it can also be radiated away almost immediately.
Accordingly, the average emission of LW infrared out of the skin surface is an even greater ~400–410 W/m², creating a net longwave loss of ~40–50 W/m² that cools the ocean. The ocean cools further by evaporation that removes an average of ~90–100 W/m², and another ~10–12 W/m² of sensible heat loss via conduction to the air above. The combined energy loss totals about 162 W/m², suggesting the ocean still holds a residual amount of solar energy ranging from 8-18 W/m². Why is that heat trapped?
The solar heated sub-surface water needs to convect to the skin surface where, only there can it release its heat. But that convection is often suppressed.
Wherever freshwater overlays warmer but saltier water, the higher salinity makes the warmer water more dense and less buoyant, trapping it at depth. This why warm salty Atlantic water gets trapped in the Arctic ocean’s subsurface for several years.
Similarly in the tropics, the trade winds transport warm salty water from the sub-tropics towards the equator. There the ITCZ delivers the greatest amount of global precipitation, generating “barrier layers” that are 4C to 5C warmer than the surface water, as well as preventing the warm water from convecting to the surface. Those barrier layers also prevent hurricanes from pulling up deeper cold water that would normally prevent hurricanes and cyclones from intensifying. Instead, hurricanes intensify by drawing the heat stored by the barrier layers, turning a Category 1 hurricane into a category 5 as observed in Cyclone Sidr. Greenhouse gases were irrelevant.
AI data centres are expected to consume 9.3 trillion litres of water annually by 2030 - the equivalent amount to the water supply requirements of 1.3 billion people in Sub-Saharan Africa. Plundering the natural resources requirements of people for the greed of the tech giants.

This is INSANE.

Treating a minor shift in a trace gas as a 'code red' planetary emergency—while ignoring the massive planetary buffer systems—is a failure of perspective.
The oceans are a vast thermal and chemical flywheel. Because they are so vast and deep, their capacity to absorb, store, and redistribute heat and gases operates on centuries-long timescales. This dwarfs the short-term models of centralised bureaucracies. For example, the oceans contain 86% of the world's global carbon reservoir; yet the atmosphere holds a mere 1% to 2%.
Science itself shows that human-produced CO₂ adds only around 3.4% to the full annual global carbon cycle. But natural climate variation has been enlisted by globalist power brokers to drive a campaign blaming CO₂ for a future catastrophe. The roles of water vapor, clouds and oceans are being bypassed. They don't suit the agenda. Yet oceans cover 72% of the Earth's surface to an average depth of 2.3 miles and contain 91% of all the world's retained heat energy. The atmosphere retains hardly any.
They are so vast that all variations in concentrations of soluble CO₂ are readily absorbed into the marine sink. As oceans warm they retain less CO₂; when they cool, they retain more. This is known as Henry's Law. Natural processes heavily influence how much CO₂ resides in the atmosphere at any given time.
The human contribution, while measurable, is a fractional perturbation within a massive, dynamic system dominated by water vapor, cloud albedo and the sheer thermal inertia of the oceans. This also overlooks the complex, self-regulating feedback of cloud albedo.
As evaporation increases, cloud cover expands, acting as a natural planetary shield that reflects incoming solar radiation back into space—a chaotic, balancing mechanism that a simplified, CO₂-centric model cannot fully capture.
Water vapor is the Earth's most abundant greenhouse gas, making up to 4% of the atmosphere by volume in the tropics. This is 40,000 ppm compared with CO₂ at roughly 420 ppm. Yet water vapor has been minimised by a simplified political narrative because, unlike well-mixed atmospheric gases, it is not uniformly distributed—its concentrations are constantly shifting over the vast expanses of the seas.
We seem to know more about the topography of the Moon than the geography and dynamics of the deep oceans. The tropics and rainforests are accepted zones of peak water vapor. These are also primary zones for storm activities—like monsoons and seasonal rainfall—essential to atmospheric turbulence and heat redistribution.
Basic physics reveals that water vapor and clouds account for a vast majority of Earth's natural greenhouse effect—roughly 70% to 85%—while CO₂ is a minor shadow at around 9% to 12%. Its role is important to the atmospheric mix, but this doesn't mean it runs the world's climate. Water absorbs and traps infrared radiation on a massive scale, playing the dominant role in weather, cloud formation and precipitation.
The 'global warming or bust' agenda minimises the importance of cloud albedo and regional complexity. By flattening water vapor into a simple mathematical slave to CO₂, global models ignore the chaotic, self-regulating dynamics of cloud formation (which reflects sunlight and cools the earth) and localised tropical dynamics.
A decentralised, water-dominated climate driven by regional ocean currents and chaotic cloud formations cannot be managed, taxed or centralised. This offers no financial leverage for global governance.
A well-mixed, uniform trace gas like CO₂, however, provides the perfect metric for a centralised system and a whopping (and unnecessary) $275 trillion grid duplication.

A new study reconstructs the abrupt warming events of the last ice age.
Between 57,000 and 29,000 years ago, Greenland experienced 11 sharp temperature bursts, warming 10 to 16C in a matter of just 50 to 200 years. CO2 levels remained low and broadly stable during this time.
Researchers analyzed 279 fossil pollen records worldwide and reconstructed land temperatures. They found the strongest warming occurred across the northern extratropics, especially Eurasia. Winter temperatures here were found to rise more than summer temperatures, which sharply reduced seasonality.
The historical record is clear.
Earth's climate has shifted far more violently and rapidly in the past, even when CO2 stayed steady.
