@crudforge1973 @stackerco I’d love a tapir fur hat. Let’s make this happen.

[PartialContext @partialcontext]

@stackerco Without bias. That’s the real test.

Humans are pretty good at acting like they want the truth. But truly objective thinking is super difficult when it involves your own personal beliefs.

[PartialContext @partialcontext]

@Samuraijrussell @stackerco This statement hits me strong this morning. So many Gods and we reject all but ours. As long as we have ours, we good…. Until we don’t.

[PartialContext @partialcontext]

@nicoraytruth Forgive me for inquiring, but are you considering leaving the church based on the above questions? It seems a bit unclear what the context is leading to this point.

[PartialContext @partialcontext]

@stackerco @InformedSaints It’s an effective tool. Repeat after me…. “If it’s not faith promoting, I don’t want to hear it”.

[PartialContext @partialcontext]

@jesse_k_fox @InformedSaints Oh, they might think they have been through something that resembles a faith crisis, but they probably had something more reminiscent of a “God didn’t answer my prayer, and I wonder if he really exists” kinda crisis.

[PartialContext @partialcontext]

@EMI_Black_Ace @stackerco Who declares winners and losers here? You?

[PartialContext @partialcontext]

@Derek_Rumpler @stackerco Smart take.

[PartialContext @partialcontext]

@haroldhadrata @stackerco The terrible, criminal yet trusted “believer” is greatly preferred in the halls of the church over the threat of the “nonbelievers” infiltrating the safe zone.

[PartialContext @partialcontext]

@stackerco @Mormonger The doctrine is perfect, but the members are imperfect, yet the church is made up of members who serve as the mouthpiece of God and periodically change the perfect doctrine for said unchanging God.

[PartialContext @partialcontext]

@melonakos @stackerco We don’t know what we don’t know, but we think/believe it is endless.

[PartialContext @partialcontext]

@stackerco It would heal a lot of wounds.

Or even this.

“Nobody knows how this all came about exactly, but we think it’s from God and we are inclined to let it guide our path. It brings us comfort to stay true to this. And we understand this is a hard thing for some.”

[PartialContext @partialcontext]

@stackerco -also over the pulpit:
“We know you just want to do what’s right. We feel the same way. We support people in all walks of life, but we will continue to follow the thing that we feel is best to preserve our values. Let’s all try to be the best we can”

[PartialContext @partialcontext]

@stackerco Accountability. It’s really about accountability.

-Over the pulpit:
“Yes, history is a mess. Our history is even worse. Somehow we managed to create a culture that we love and feel supports families and we think this all comes from heaven. We don’t know how, but we love it….”

[PartialContext @partialcontext]

@LDSBishop_Vader Alderaan is in the mission field. They probably deserved it.

[PartialContext @partialcontext]

@TeachWMrBrown @stackerco The truth claims don’t hold up, and that is why many people choose to leave. Hard to stay when you aren’t able to reconcile that.

[PartialContext @partialcontext]

@stackerco @ThoughtfulSaint

[PartialContext @partialcontext]

@jesse_k_fox @stackerco Profound

[PartialContext @partialcontext]

@rob_alvord @stackerco And when they eventually change it back, they’ll say we were crazy and it was always fine to drink that stuff.

[PartialContext @partialcontext]

@horizonSci @stackerco It’s well known that they drank wine in Carthage before dying. And it’s also well known that Brigham ran a distillery in the latter part of the 1800s. Yes they made it a commandment later, but the scripture still reflects the OG wording. Not commandment.
