First and foremost Brock was leaving at the time and Eddie was the right person for the job.
Secondly as a whole Wrestling was on the decline due to a certain combat sport being on the rise.
Thirdly Eddie was far from an "indie" guy and to try to paint him as such shows me how long you've been a wrestling fan.
Finally what's this bullshit about indie guys beating big jacked draws? From 2004-2014 the big two belts were mostly held by Edge,Cena,Orton,Punk,Triple H,Undertaker and Batista. Those indie guys you're complaining about almost never sniffed the main title at that time.

Eddie Guerrero beating Brock Lesnar for the WWE Title is the worst thing that ever happened to wrestling.

Zero disrespect to Eddie or anyone who genuinely misses him. But it’s the truth people refuse to accept.

That title win opened the floodgates for anti-draw indie guys to “overcome the odds” and take the belt off actual big, jacked draws.
