From 2009 to 2025 the buying power of take home pay has reduced and housing costs have doubled in London. Adjusted this means that your take home page is 33% weaker.

@ReasonableCop Until 2014 we use to have a negotiating board where everything was on the table. It didn’t lead to modern regulations you talk about but it was better. Since 2014 things are worse and take too long to change. Part-Time audit commenced 2012 and is still ongoing!!!

@drdavidbull @MayorofLondon Ignoring petty theft and vandalism isn’t harmless. It leads to bigger crimes and unsafe streets. Delays in tackling the problem will mean it takes more time, money and effort to rectify later. Cutting police budgets won’t help the matter.

Not long before the government announcement on the PRRB report. We are expecting those in power and positions of trust to recognise the situation that policing is in where officers have simply #CoppedEnough

Police pay has suffered since 2010 to the point where many officers have now #CoppedEnough. We now wait to see the recommendations from the Police Remuneration Review Body and for the governments response to these.

Yesterday the #PRRB submitted its 2025 report covering the pay of police officers in England and Wales. The response to our recommendations and publication of our report is now a matter for the Government.

Police pay has fallen behind and officers don’t have industrial rights. When this happens they find second jobs or simply leave. Voluntary resignations now make up nearly two thirds of those leaving, nearly half of those leaving voluntarily have less than 5 years’ service.

PFEW Acting Deputy National Chair Brian Booth said: "It's criminal a third of officers say they're struggling to cover basic bills. Officers want and need to rest on their days off, not feel forced to pick up extra work to pay the bills."
