@XrayAurora@PankhurstEM are you claiming to be a feminist while blaming women for men's behaviour? are you actually serious right now? a woman could walk down the street stark naked and it still wouldn't give men the right to be misogynistic towards her.
@JamesGr00336755 @KatyMontgomerie okay, what area? any specific artists or just the ones people have chosen to film? famous ones or niche ones? drag is as diverse as any other art form, this is like saying video games are only for adults because you've seen gta clips on the internet.
@rady_aphrodite @KatyMontgomerie please for the love of god leave the house and go to a drag show. women do drag all the time, there are many female drag queens and drag kings are not going anywhere.
@MegPaisan @KatyMontgomerie have you ever been to a drag show, met a drag king, or met the *many* women that do drag? or do you just like waffling about stuff you know nothing about?
@danican@KiwiMuichiro (here's a link if you'd like to check that out! https://t.co/1TaMVxj98k)
i also think it's worth seperating early radical feminism from TERFism as we know it today (catherine mackinnon is very openly supportive) - but that's beside the point! i will definitely check that out
@danican@KiwiMuichiro that's fascinating! thank you for sharing - i do think it's worth considering the context of the meeting shown in the photo as one of solely radical feminists, as it's from an event called "Lesbian/feminist dialogue" hosted at Bernard by allegedly, Barbara Getz
@KiwiMuichiro (if you'd like to read more because this is really interesting, please check out the asexual manifesto and o'riley's work! again, this is not me saying that asexual people are not lgbt+, but that the history of the identity is closer to a political one)
@KiwiMuichiro of the time who viewed the idea that sex was necessary to have a happy relationship as a way in which the patriarchy expolits women. i believe asexuality's first mention as a sexual identity first appeared in O'riley's novel "my life as an amoeba" where she discusses being ace
@nevixiao @jupiter_vr@SwordBloodStone @RivenWren i'm half, and i think it's complicated. i've met people that hate traveller because they feel it's too broad, as romani travellers, irish travellers, even showmen and russian travellers face very different issues. i think if in doubt just ask people which term they prefer
@BeullahGC No, it's not, but you still don't want to date someone due to a preference. That's fine, but it'd be rude as fuck to tell people "i wont date you because you're fat/short/ugly"
also, please actually go to a gay bar instead of making up things to be mad about on the internet
@BeullahGC @stephenpaton134 i'm not saying it is, i'm saying pointing out people's insecurities is rude. never in all my time of being asked out has someone not stopped after "yeah, sorry, not interested." if they don't, most gay bar security are absolutely lovely. please actually go outside ๐ญ
@BeullahGC @stephenpaton134 so your source is my friend said it? lol
also why does some random in a bar have to know that? "i'm not interested" is a full sentence. there's no need to point out things that person may be insecure about. i wouldn't say "sorry, i prefer women with small noses" because it's rude
@BeullahGC @stephenpaton134 i mean, that's just a rude thing to say? whenever you reject someone who doesn't fit your preference, do you say "sorry, it's just because you're too short/you're too loud/i don't like your hair."

@JamJarJinx @DaleThegn @IWillNeverTwee3 @atalanta44 @EleanorJayynes@LousyJester@jk_rowling i agree, but the change won't happen in our lifetime. there is no one great revolution that will destroy gender. yes, work towards a genderless society, but we should support those who are misterable now and won't be alive to see the benefits of it.
@JamJarJinx @DaleThegn @IWillNeverTwee3 @atalanta44 @EleanorJayynes@LousyJester@jk_rowling 2/2 living under a horrible system that nobody alive today chose is the action we should take until we have better options. if that is something that you fundamentally disagree with, then i don't believe i have anything more to say here.
@JamJarJinx @DaleThegn @IWillNeverTwee3 @atalanta44 @EleanorJayynes@LousyJester@jk_rowling for the sake of this argument, i'm going to ignore the studies that show a biological basis of being trans. honestly, does it matter? yes, the system isn't great, but trans people feel horrible being treated as their birth gender. i believe that any comfort we can give people 1/2
@JamJarJinx @DaleThegn @IWillNeverTwee3 @atalanta44 @EleanorJayynes@LousyJester@jk_rowling but "rich" and "upper class" are also essential to the "pinnacle of capitalist success" while not based off stereotypes in itself, money creates different classes, which then furthers inequality. money in a vacumn is neutral, while in practice is used as a tool of capitalism.
