The Stone Roses came out in the spring, but I still remember the unusually beautiful weather in England at the time.

At parties back then, it was always the same : I’d arrive, head straight to the turntable, take off whatever record was playing, and put on The Stone Roses. My friends and I would form a semicircle around the turntable, keeping everyone else at bay, and anyone who tried to play another album got in trouble.

The Stone Roses in 1989… I was obsessed with being in a band. When I saw these guys, I thought, this is as good as we’ve got to be. And that was it. That was my epiphany."
