Enbridge is being investigated by the Competition Bureau for misleading promotional materials in Ontario that claim fossil/natural gas is the cheapest way to heat homes and is “low carbon”
Congrats to @envirodefence and others that filed the complaint!

Doug Ford,
So you will be using our taxes to renovate a US-owned corporation named Staples, while you relocate all Service Ontario locations to kiosks inside Staples.
“Some of the soon-to-be-shuttered locations have been family businesses for decades and owners were given just 70 days’ notice that their business was being closed.”
Who do you think you are? Who did you consult to arrive at this corrupt and greedy decision? Ontarians deserve better. We’re done with your endless corruption. Ontario is not for sale.

Visited a couple shelters in Edmonton today. Line ups down the road to access. Inside Boyle Street Community Services, a hell hole. Dozens of rows of bunk beds filled with men, women & elders. People coming and going; filthy, crowded, zero privacy. Looked like the workers were doing the best they could, but I saw the situation & understood why the people in the encampments say they don’t want to utilize these services.
Dehumanizing language that incites violence is never acceptable.
All leaders must speak out against antisemitism, anti-Muslim bigotry and all forms of hate.
The issue of @fordnation, Ontario government, giving a Service Ontario sweetheart, palm greasing deal to one of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party's @OntarioPCParty major donors, owner of Staples, is a topic on Reddit. Below is one of the comments.
"I currently work for Staples and....yeah the service we provide is poor. Doesn't help that the Bell kiosk has almost more hours dedicated to it than tech and office combined. Staples finally decided that they can't make money by selling stuff so they are whoring themselves out to whoever wants the floor space. If I didn't live close or have the cheap rent I do, I would have left years ago. Some other random things that have happened in a few years time:
"All Staples will no longer have fork lifts in the back room
"My office dept is being run by a teenager that looks and smells like he's homeless and has zero work ethic. Our previous lead was a tried and true warehouse manager
"They gutted their in-house infrastructure, so instead of having clear, concise web pages for looking up stuff its some sort of template style site that is over designed.
"Not like the previous point matters as no one stays long enough/has the capacity to actually get used to our systems.
"Used to be no commission but now there are contests and payouts for sales. Too bad if you aren't a sales rep or a customer that just wants their shit! Some dipshit sold my mom a warranty at a price bracket higher than what it was supposed ($60 warranty for a $200 laptop.
"They are telling managers to break the rules to get sales.
"Introduced a binning system. NO ONE can figure it out. No one. It boggles my mind. You scan 1 barcode, enter a quantity, then scan the other barcode. Esoteric shit right there. They also didn't provide us with enough scanners so not more than 1 person can do a full job of putting stock away depending on who else needs a scanner.
"Used what I assume to be the free tier of Citrix for like 2 years and only recently switched to something usable.
"They are getting rid of the Receiver position just like they did with the Technician a while ago. Instead of having one person that knows whats going on, you have 15 idiots stepping all over each other doing it their own way.
"We used to receive about 2-4 skids everyday, now just a little over that for the whole week.
"Stores have been relocating to smaller buildings. One moved into an tiny old Marks Work Warehouse store.
"No one told me this directly, but I think I missed the memo to skip on showers, brush teeth, and use deodorant. Its fucking lethal in enclosed rooms, man. No idea how customers or management put up with it.
"They reintroduced their stupid reward system so you can earn points to buy useless garbage, but, again, you will never get enough to redeem anything. Now if I could pay my rent with Staples stars....
"No one with a Head Office email will reply to you. Almost never. They don't even reply to each other, oddly. I've sent a few emails to HO people about something I need information on, and when they inevitably tell me they don't know, they will forward it to someone else that wont get back to either of us.
"We bleed shrink. Its madness. No one has any solutions. The amount of times I see us writing off entire quantities of stuff WE JUST RECEIVED 3 DAYS AGO makes me loose faith in humanity.
"Is Staples worse than other big retail locations? I couldn't say as its been 10 years since I've worked at another one. What I do know? Staples has been giving themselves whiplash by haphazardly changing direction every which way whether its slogans, operations, target demos, or philosophy. I just hope Ontario doesn't spend too much gussying up this pig with a suspect heart so that they can leach on people that just need to get important shit done."
Guelph has ambitious housing targets, and this funding from the federal government will help us get there.
We need to keep pushing for further action, especially at the provincial level.

Memo to Pierre Poilievre - you need to re-do your housing hell video in light of Economist magazine finding that the most livable and cheapest cities in North America are in Canada! #factsMatter#cdnpoli@CanadianGreens

@OntarioGreens@MikeSchreiner@AislinnClancyKC Mike lot of stuff to target! Ontario Place contract, the destruction of the habitat created over 5O years to make way for private spa, no environment review , moving OSC after years of neglect. that’s just Ontario Place, then there are health education, LTC, affordable housing!
This was a historic fall for the @OntarioGreens. We doubled our caucus when @Aislinnclancykc won big in Kitchener Centre. We called for a Weston Tax, to end price gouging by grocery giants.
This government could have spent the fall session making homes more attainable for the average Ontarian, fixing our healthcare system, and making food more affordable. But they were too busy undoing all their mistakes from last year and then letting themselves out a week early.
Ontario Greens will keep fighting to actually get things done for the people of Ontario.
🧵 This government has already steamrolled municipal governance with their slapdash strong mayors rollout.
Now, they’re taking it to a whole new level. #onpoli#greenbelt
Canada’s two largest metros, Toronto and Montreal, see six trains per day in each direction that take a little more than five hours. Madrid and Barcelona are the same distance and see 35 trains per day each way, taking as little as 2 hours and 30 minutes. Canada deserves better.
Canadians deserve more than smug silence when public projects go off the rails - the Eglinton Crosstown is four years late and $3-billion over budget.
We worked evenings and weekends to create the design concept for that gorgeous green track you see in the picture (and the rest of the project, from the below grade tunnels to the stations) on schedule to ensure no delays.
But today, 95% built (maybe more?) there is no one in charge to grab the bull by the horns and get it over the finish line.
$3 billion over budget and no opening date in sight? No wonder people are giving up and getting back in their cars.
Time for leaders - at the Province, at the City - to step up, grab the bull by the horns and tell the public how and when they are going to get this done.

BREAKING: Leaked document shows Ontario government knew forcing farm eating sprawl on cites for billionaire developer friends would make it harder to build more homes https://t.co/yc97u8KWbh via @envirodefence#HomesinCities#GreenbeltGate
Ontario has some of the best farmland in the world. But we're losing that farmland at an unsustainable rate.
With Thanksgiving around the corner, let's commit to supporting our farmers and protecting our farmland from Ford's land grabs.
