Vandaag is het precies 3 jaar geleden dat president Poetin (Rusland) met een grote legermacht Oekraïne binnenviel.
Rusland hield toen al Transnistrië (Moldavië) bezet, was Georgië binnengevallen en hield Zuid Ossetië en Abchazië bezet, had de Krim ingenomen en de rebellen in Donbass gesteund. Het paste dus in een groter patroon.
Het is van groot belang dat wij Oekraïne blijven steunen en dat er een rechtvaardige en houdbare vrede komt. De Oekrainers betalen een enorm hoge prijs op dit moment.
Die steun is niet alleen in het belang van Oekraïne maar juist ook in het belang van andere Europese landen, waaronder Nederland.
Als Europese landen moeten we een stuk weerbaarder en veel zelfstandiger worden op heel veel fronten.
De wereldorde verandert snel en zal helaas meer gebaseerd zijn op sterke mannen en macht dan op internationaal recht, bondgenootschappen en organisaties. Daar moeten we ons op gaan aanpassen.
