The Hon. Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Hon. Eng. Jonard Asiimwe Akiiki, is today at the Kiira Motors Corporation Vehicle Manufacturing Plant, where he commissioned the charging plant and inspected ongoing work across the facility, witnessing firsthand the progress of Uganda’s home-grown electric mobility industry.

Beyond the technology and infrastructure, the Minister marked the visit by planting a tree, a gesture carrying his aspirations for the continued growth and sustainability of Kiira Motors Corporation.

“Using the leaves as a point of contact, I pray to the Lord that, as this tree takes root, grows and flourishes, may Kiira Motors Corporation also take deeper root, grow and rise to even greater heights,” the Hon. Minister Eng. Jonard Asiimwe was quoted while praying.

The moment reflects a wider national ambition: to nurture what Uganda has built, strengthen local engineering and manufacturing capability, and grow Kiira Motors Corporation into an increasingly competitive force in Africa’s automotive industry.

@UIPE_Uganda For graduate membership, the proposer and seconder have to be corporate members of UIPE and are the same field as the applicant, what of graduates of new engineering programmes that has no members in that category yet?
