⚡️🇺🇳 During the 101st session held in November 2024, the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention issued Opinion 62/2024 on the detention of lawyer, journalist and human rights defender Dauletmurat #Tazhimuratov from the Republic of #Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan.
🚨 The Working Group determined that the detention was arbitrary and in violation of numerous articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. The Working Group called on #Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 to immediately release Mr. Tazhimuratov, accord him an enforceable right to compensation and other reparations, conduct a full and independent investigation and to take appropriate measures against those responsible for the violation of his rights.
