Dear Mr. Ehsassi
I have spent almost 8 years away from my father. After biometrics, we believed our wait was finally over. Instead, we received a refusal. No child should have to spend so many years separated from a parent.
#DownSyndrome#FamilyReunification#FamilyReunification
My name is Mohammadreza Vadiati.
For nearly 8 years, I have lived in Canada separated from my wife and daughter.
I came to Canada as a refugee with my son because my life and my family's safety were at risk in Iran. After being recognized as a Protected Person, I applied for Permanent Residence.
After more than 6 years of waiting, my application was refused because of mandatory military service I was forced to complete in Iran many years ago—something I had no choice in.
When I arrived in Canada, I started from nothing. In Iran, I worked in the poultry industry. In Canada, I took whatever jobs I could find, worked hard, paid taxes, contributed to my community, and built a new life from the ground up. Today, I proudly own a successful small business, in North Vancouver.
But despite all of my efforts, I remain separated from my family.
I cannot safely return to Iran. My wife and daughter cannot join me in Canada. My daughter has Down syndrome and needs her father. For years, I have watched her grow up through phone screens and video calls. I have missed birthdays, milestones, and precious moments that I can never get back. No video call can replace a father's hug.
We have tried every legal pathway available. We submitted multiple immigration applications and even applied for a Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) for my wife and daughter so our family could finally be together. Those applications were also refused.
Today, I am trapped in an impossible situation. I cannot go to my family, and my family cannot come to me. Nearly 8 years have passed, and we are still waiting.
I am not just an immigration file number. I am a husband. I am a father. I am a small business owner. I am a member of my community. Most importantly, I am a person who simply wants to be reunited with the people he loves.
Eight years apart is too long for any family.
Please share our story and help our voice to be heard
@CanadianPM@CitImmCanada@PierrePoilievre and those in positions of authority, please hear our family's story.

@MichelleRempel Iranians are highly educated and successful business owners and taxpayers. If you prefer more Indian and Bangladeshi and Pakestani immigrants, so be it, but time will show how things unfold when they will ask for a full Islamic regime in Canada,

Thank you for including this important clause in your recommendations, Nazanin jan. This issue is becoming increasingly urgent, as reports indicate that the Islamic regime is using conscripts as human shields, while commanders abandon their posts in dangerous situations.
This once again highlights the severe human rights violations conscripts are forced to endure. Penalizing individuals who are compelled into service and left to choose between obedience and survival is fundamentally unjust. We must actively pursue solutions that hold the real decision-makers accountable, rather than punishing those who are themselves victims.
The Minister of Public Safety recently stated that 28 individuals are currently going through the removal process. At the same time, there are reports of 700 IRGC members living freely in Canada.
@MelissaLantsman and @MichelleRempel are asking the right questions: how many actual IRGC members are among these individuals? How many regime officials are truly being removed from Canada?
It’s an important distinction raised here: “We’re not talking about somebody who was conscripted into the IRGC against their will.”
For years, conscripts have been labeled as IRGC members and used as scapegoats. Targeting victims no longer works. The focus should be on senior officials and willing participants who profited from the regime—not on individuals forced into mandatory service.
Canadians and Iranians deserve transparency and facts, not abstract numbers.

Mr @MarkJCarney@CitImmCanFR Please inform us: with what type of visa are these regime thugs able to come to Canada, while our beloved family members and friends cannot even obtain a tourist visa to visit us? We are now hearing that senior regime figures are fleeing — and Canada is their destination. This is deeply concerning. #IranRevolution2026
While the Canadian government has broken its promise to protect IRGC conscripts and is now making innocent victims of the IRGC inadmissible to Canada, we continue to see scenes like this: a mullah entering Canada with his entire family—openly, even wearing clerical clothing.
The contradictions in the government’s actions are unbelievable. The government claims to support the people of Iran, yet it targets victims of the regime while allowing regime members to live and move freely in Canada.
@MarkJCarney@LenaMetlegeDiab@gary_srp@PierrePoilievre@MelissaLantsman@MichelleRempel@vincentneilho
I wonder what the conversation between this animal and a CBSA officer would be like: ‘Did you complete any conscription?’ ‘No.’ ‘Great—welcome to Canada.’ Meanwhile, the lives of innocent former conscripts are being made miserable in Canada.
#ConscriptsAreNotMembers
@shuvmajumdar@VassyKapelos@CTVNews Thank you, Shuv. I am sharing some images from current approach of IRCC against innocent conscripts. These are records directly from federal court for at least three separate case. The number of similar unpublished cases exceed more than dozens.
#ConscriptsAreNotMembers
@vincentneilho I am pretty sure they have just the innocent conscripts who also are the Victim of the Islamic Regime
I can't believe how unfair this is and How Canada is Handling this now
More than two years have passed since Brennan and @NegarMojtahedi reported in this Global News article that around 700 regime affiliates are present in Canada, a number the RCMP itself confirmed (https://t.co/9mmCKnrxcN).
Yet Canadian political parties have still failed to take any meaningful action. Instead, the @liberal_party, seeking to deflect political pressure, has chosen an easier target: Iranian conscripts who are themselves victims of the regime and its terrorist arm, #IRGCTerrorists. By labelling them as “members” of a terrorist organization, they are punishing those who had no choice in their service.
These are the same conscripts who, even during wartime, were forced to stay in barracks without any military training, used as cannon fodder, while officers cowardly fled their posts.
A policy that punishes victims while regime affiliates continue to move freely in Canada does not strengthen civilian protection, it undermines it.
Dear @AliEhsassi, I can’t agree with you more. Partisan attacks are unjust and only harm civilians, exactly like what they have done to innocent conscripts. I remember when both parties agreed that the listing of the IRGC should target the real perpetrators, and that was the whole point, correct? To go after complex cases. Now look where we are.
The listing has failed to target IRGC officials, and more and more low-hanging fruits—innocent conscripts—are becoming the collateral damage of this policy. Why does the government refuse to work collectively with other parties to redirect resources to where they should be?
@IRGCConscripts @AliEhsassi@shuvmajumdar If there is such 700 list, publish it & deal with them directly!
@CitImmCanada is now wasting Canada resources to go after innocent conscripts! It's crystal clear that they are not ranked IRGC officials. It seems the @liberal_party try to turn IRGC conscripts into scapegoats, why?
It is clear that conscription in the Islamic Republic primarily functions as a mechanism to create casualties.
Conscripts are forcibly assigned to organizations and often delegated to non-military duties such as cleaning and cooking.
The regime’s rules state that conscripts who abandon their bases can face execution. Yet during wartime, cowardly commanders have fled their positions while forcing conscripts to remain, even though conscripts receive no real military training.
This reflects the brutality of the regime and the severe consequences imposed on young conscripts who had no choice in their service.
Do you know what hurts?
We Iranians have been fighting for over a month now, so many people have been killed by the Islamic Republic, and all these bitches who are blaming the USA and Israel now, were fucking silent about the massacre happened in Iran. Why aren't you staying silent? Oh, it's because Jews are involved. Gotcha.
The death of Ayatollah Khamenei brings justice for the Iranian people after decades of rule under this repressive, theocratic, tyrannical dictatorship.
This evil man murdered his own people, denied them their basic freedoms, and fuelled terror and violence around the world.
Canada will always stand with the people of Iran as they seek a future defined by democracy, freedom, and peace.
