@JasmineForUS But we don’t worry about the safety of the innocent students at the New York universities that have physically been attacked. It’s not just about YOU
It’s about that time, y’all.
CLASS LISTS.
Administrators across the country are meticulously finalizing class lists, and teachers are anxiously waiting to see which kids will become their new babies for 180 school days.
It’s also that time of year where the chatter starts…
…about THAT kid.
The one who has a reputation for being “low”.
The one who “can’t behave.”
The one who is “lazy”.
The one who _______.
Don’t be the teacher who judges a child based on another person's opinion.
🔹Every kid deserves a reset.
🔺Every kid deserves more chances.
🔹Every kid deserves a champion.
Many kids are on the road to failure because of reasons beyond their control. Be the person who redirects their path this year.
Be their merchant of hope! People don’t need us to be merchants of hope during the easy times. It is in the darkest moments that they need their merchant of hope to selflessly carry them through the storm.
We chose the profession where we are helping raise other people’s kids. As you receive your class lists over the next few days, receive them with love, clean slates, and lots of grace.
The reality? We are all doing this really hard thing called “life” in the best and only way we know how.
Never judge a child based on another person’s opinion.
And while we’re at it, let’s replace "child" with "person" (friend, colleague, parent, acquaintance, stranger).
Patient. Loving. Understanding. Forgiving. Grace giving.
These are the attributes of a person who can reach
another person's heart and change their pathway. I have so much work to do on myself so that I can better help others. I'm especially thankful for grace.

There’s something so exciting about brand new teachers’ classrooms and watching them get it ready all summer long. So much wonder. So much self-drive. So much innocence.
The sad part is when we see a new teacher lose that because they don’t feel supported during their first year.
Support your new teachers.
🔺Check on them daily.
🔸Model lessons for them.
🔺Provide them an automatic coaching cycle with the instructional coach on day 1.
🔸Provide specific feedback.
🔺Model the first phone call home.
🔸Pre-plan their first parent conf and do it with them.
🔺Simply ask, “How can I help?” And ask often.
Teachers will be more likely to stay in the profession when they feel supported. Plain and simple.
What did I miss?
Congratulations to Neil Risher who was appointed at tonight’s Board meeting as the new Principal at @BrewsterTech! He is ready to support our students and their future as they prepare to enter the workforce.
My Leto Criminal Justice students making Human Trafficking Awareness Posters. They did a great job discussing this problem of the illegal exploitation of a person.@APLetoHigh @LHSMcCoy @Mrscopeslibrary@HillsboroughSch
Great couple of days @APLetoHigh started Tuesday with a guess speaker from HCC and then a dance along with ESE. Today Patriot had fun with his kids, he helped a student relax and took a nap with his favorite person @LHSMcCoy
I'm a big fan of Saban, love him and love how he coaches. Every new and young coach should watch this clip. Without discipline it doesn't matter how much talent you have.@APLetoHigh@LetoAthletics @LHSMcCoy @LHSartabasy
DISCIPLINE IS A WAY OF LIFE
This entire clip from Coach Saban is pure gold. Discipline is everything. Every player should watch this clip understanding how they do drills in practice, how they warm up, or do anything is a mentality. It can't be turned on or off.
Proud of the HCPS Criminal Justice teachers. We had a great advisory meeting and got a lot accomplished. Thank you to our community partners; Chief Bradford, Allen Hill, Mike Dexter, TPD's B. Torres, HCSO, HCC and the CTE staff. @LHSMcCoy @HillsboroughSch@cte
